Well made, but not compatible with existing home router. It's a power line and router combined
Product seems very well made. I bought it because the 3 RJ45 ethernet ports (2 are Gigabit) on each device, plus the wifi built in, plus it's made by "D-Link" which I've used in the past. Plus it's expandable. I ended up returning the product only because I learned it's not compatible with an exiting router. My home already has cables and/or wifi throughout the home. I thought I could use this product to save cabling to a wifi dead spot. This product is a router and a powerline adapter in one...so it present an IP conflict if there's another router in the system. D-Link support recommended another one of their products "DHP-701AV" which would not have this conflict. Support was very fast and good quality. I placed support call with D-Link at 8:26pm PST. The incident was escalated with an estimated 1-hour call back. A guru tech called back at 8:49 PST and answered my questions...without forcing me to answer all those mindless checklist questions that just waste time. If I was actually able to use the product, I suspect I could have given it a 5. I rated the wifi as a 5 because of dual band. I didn't test the range, but it provided max strength through 2 rooms and distance of 50 feet.

Not within an order of magnitude of the promised performance
Well, when you buy something that doesn't have many reviews you are always taking a risk. I ordered this because I have had D-Link equipment in the past and if they usually live up to their claims. Not this time. During setup I was within 10 feet of both units. Setup is easy. You plug the first unit directly into the wall, it has to go in the top socket because of the design, you can't plug it into the bottom socket and still use the top socket. You can't plug it into a power strip, surge arrestor, or UPS. It needs direct access to the main power wiring. I then connected the wired Ethernet port to my SBG7600 cable modem. I installed the modem three days ago, and just tested it with direct and wireless links. I get 720Mbps wired and 540Mbps on WiFi to my Galaxy S10 phone and over 450Mbps on my laptop about 15 feet away. On the D-Link WiFi I got about 350Mbps. Not a disaster, if it can poke that through the powerlines and I still get something similar wired in the office.I pugged the second unit into a nearby socket, probably on the same breaker. Minimal wiring between. I logged into the D-Link over WiFi and followed the instructions to set passwords and install the second unit. It really couldn't be much easier. Once it was configured it said to move to the intended point of use.Now the big test. In my office I can get about 20Mpbs on Wifi and about 100 using my (sadly dead) old WiFi extender's wired ports. I plugged in the D-Link and waited until all lights turned green. I started a speed test and was very disappointed. 36Mbps. I could have got that with a slightly better WiFi antenna. I confirmed the speed with my S10. It got the same bandwidth. What a waste of money. Now to see if I can return it.

uncomplicated
Zeroing in on the right WiFi extender can make your head spin. No one has time to fuss with technical set up instructions. After reading the review that said it was easy to set up, I ordered this one and was not disappointed! Super smooth set up. Works great. Happy now.

Easy to use... Just buy it
I've had to setup several routers and the like in the past. I've never found them difficult but sometimes you could run into problems that will send you on a Google rabbit hole. I bought this because I need a better WiFi signal in part of my home. I was using a Roku TV that kept cutting out during Netflix and other streaming content. The instructions were clear and in less that 4 minutes everything was up and running. I think the best part is it automatically transferred my current WiFi network and password. I didn't know it was going to do and and I was prepared to do an additional setup. If you're not knowledgeable about the setting up WiFi networks and just need something that works and is easy to use then buy this.My only "gripe" is that I haven't seen a setting that will allow for only the 2.4gHz band only. I use this band for certain Smart products that won't function on a 5gHz signal. I won't remove a star for this as I have a 2.4gHz WiFi router that handles this problem.
