Finally, credible honesty.
Honesty, courage , and pride in service did not deter the truth from being told.A rare conviction so strong, all the effort and success in meeting the requirements of the job description did not interfere with personal beliefs, and a decision had to be made by this person to step up to the plate and even try to change his career intentions after 12 years of being well thought of in the secret service, what he and roughly 63% of Americans and patriots believe . (Statistics are based on a reported 37% approval rate currently of this administration)This abuse of power must be challenged and it would take giving up a job he loved , to try to do something about it.He made sacrifices which included not seeing his family, ( his daughter asking him " daddy are you allowed to sleep here tonight?"), on a regular basis, traveling on twelve hour flights to Afghanistan, and doing all the planning just to have the some of these trips cancelled arbitrarily .He seemed to thrive on the tremendous stress of the planning it involved and his reward was keeping the president safe. No other tangible reward was received when he resigned, no recognition except his satisfaction he did his job well, and appreciative admiration from within the ranks of the service. Oh , and he had to be willing to take a bullet for whoever he was protecting at the time.He sets the bar high for himself just as most others do in the secret service. No whining, worked diligently for ever changing intelligence, and had an extremely high work ethic.I and many others would be overjoyed if he and others like him would be elected to the senate to perpetuate the truth , and achieve a balance while restoring dignity, decorum and balance to our constatuitionally intended three divisions of American government. legislative, judical, and executive branches, (which for all purposes seem to consist of just two lately.)We indeed need such people to clean out the present blatant disgrace while serving in these areas. We must return to our beginnings , and not perpetuate job security which he talks about as the main goal of people being re elected with no term limits in place currently. It takes money , conviction acted upon, and a good steady reputation. He didn't have the 6 million to win in Maryland's'last race for the senate that his opponent literally bought. Hopefully that will change as America wakes up.A little dry in the beginning , but a valuable lesson in history regarding the fortitude it takes to serve in the secret service. Well worth the time it takes to read,

I Cut the pipe 3 times, and it's still too short!!!
That title above represents our government today, state and federal. Why in 1948 I could buy aIce cream cone for 5 cents in Bedford Hills N.Y and today it's.2 dollars on up.I believe it's because ofthe devaluation of the dollar..How did it devalue? When you add the cost of doing business it inflates theprice of goods. When I was born in 1938 my family and most families up too the 60's were one earnerpaycheck families. What happened? What I've seen take place is the expanding government taxes, regulations, unfair union costs and demands and failures of the Education system. In the 1980's I was a vocational teacher in private and public high schools in Connecticut andreading and math skills were sorely lacking.Poorly educated people puts a strain on society. All of thementioned conditions makes it necessary too have multiple paychecks coming into the family finances. Finally back to the Ice cream cone, does it taste better@ 2 dollars plus or 5 cents, you know theanswer already. All this add on doesn't give us a simpler better way of life, plus takes away a lot ofliberties. THat's the way the government works because it's so large and removed from the situation on theground problem. The analogy is this, why could I buy a Ice cream cone In Bedford Hills N.Y.for 5 centsand today it cost 2 dollars on up.The Ice cream cone didn't get larger, just the expense of business inthis country through added taxes, unnecessary regulations, sue happy Lawyers and some profound damaging unfair Union demands. I retired from city govt.in 2005 as a foreman Mechanic and Dan Bongino wasright about my coworkers in the trenches,It's upper management distance fromthe situation at hand and poor financial practices with outside vendersand sweetheart deals and insane bloated pensions because of Union deals theballoon burst. The city changed the way it does business today, and is financially viableand new hires have a completely different system. But some cities can't comeback because they can't print money like the Fed.Who's stuck, but the poor tax payer. At 75 years young and I'm in my golden years, but I worry about my childrenand grandkids.I hope before I pass away, that I see a change from thisprogressive and socialistic nonsence that's ruining the U.S.A., just rememberthat someone will have to pay that 17+ trillion debt. God Bless America.

Very good read
I stumbled on Dan Bongino almost accidentally really as he turned up on my newsfeed on Facebook in a video concerning the turmoil sweeping across the USA in the last month or so triggered by the death in custody of George Floyd. I saw several video clips of his commentaries following that but I’ve only just discovered a bit about his history first as a police officer with NYPD and his subsequent career in the Secret Service. This really great read charts his pretty tough childhood at the hand of an abusive step-dad, his early career in law-enforcement and of course his career with the Secret Service and what eventually made him walk away from all of that. I found all the ‘inside’ stuff from his time with the PPD (Presedential Protective Division) fascinating although for very obvious reasons he avoids disclosing any state secrets. I‘ll leave it there for now but I think we and our political leaders could learn a huge deal from this man who’s seen it all.

Great book
If you watch Dan's show, you will love this book. Even people who don't watch his fantastic show, you will find this book about Dan's life in the Secret Service really interesting. Great book.

Incomplete
This book was quite interesting - up to a point, but there was no real 'meat' and seemed to be all about how difficult life was for the author as a Secret Service officer. I'd been hoping for more specifics about politicians, political decisions etc. It has not gone into my 'favourites' book case.

Well written. Informative
Excellent book on how the manufactured political bubble deviates from the real world,American citizens. Those living in the bubble display not just ignorance - or perhaps, if we want to be charitable - acute insensitivity, but almost a pathological dissociation, concrete level closed-mindedness and sheer unearned entitlement those living in 'manufactured reality' or 'the bubble' - exhibit. It becomes the duty of every citizen to bring their elected representatives, taxpayer funded public servants and propaganda media, back to reality. Popping their bubble is a moral imperative. Enforcing their own policies and laws on those making them, enforcing their own standards and rules on them is a mercy that we should extend to bubble dwellers - for their own good and the good of the broader community

A real eye opener
If you are interested in finding out how your government works (applies across the board, albeit in different ways) to enhance individuals and suppress the majority, disseminate responsibility and foster plausible deniability, then this is the book to read.Well written, it comes from an "insider" who tells it like it is.Well done, Dan.
