Works great
Great value for the money when compared to other pedals at four times the cost. I am a hobbyist guitar player and four and I do. This is more than enough and could easily gig out with this. Nice solid case and good features.

Works butβ¦..
Bought to replace an old Ibanez flanger. While it does βflangeβ the sound itβs darker and not nearly the sound of my old Ibanez.Actually has a glitchy sound quality it and not smooth like something more expensive.

Solid, sounds great, but the graphics . . .
I just bought this through amazon, and I would first like to note that the graphics in the listing might differ from the graphics on the pedal you receive. That turned out fine because the karate move graphics were pictured, but I got the jet plane graphics, which I prefer. It doesn't matter, because the first thing I did was sand the whole enclosure and replaced the knobs, which was pretty easy (45 minutes of sanding at the most). Looks aren't everything, but they're something. From the reviews (on amazon and elsewhere), I expected a good, solid flanger, and that is precisely what this is. I had an early 80s Ibanez FL9, which is capable of the rich phasey and lush chorus sounds, but not of the flangey swoosh or metallic clank I was looking for (for lack of better words). Joyo has all of it: the swooshes, swirls, and robot-voice clanks (i.e., short delay). My impression after a couple of days of playing with it is that it has everything I'm looking for in a flanger (see caveat next paragraph). If I were a gigging guitarist, I would consider spending $80-$100 more for a better flanger, but based on my experience with flangers (I have owned a In Line Effects Flanger, a Boss BF2 and an Ibanez FL9, and now this), it's the best flanger for the price. That is, don't expect to pay just $20 more for a noticeably better flanger. But......it depends on what you're looking for in a flanger. I mostly use it at low settings to thicken the sound a bit, and I occasionally introduce a bit of clanky short Delay with the Regen knob turned up a bit for some King's X sounds. A stereo option would be cool, but so would a second amp to play it through. If that's something you're looking for, then spending a bit more on a stereo flanger wouldn't be a bad idea. If not, I heartily recommend this one.

You get more than you pay for...a whole lot more!
I bought this Joyo flanger to replace a flanger that died (if you look at my pedal board you can probably guess what the dead pedal was). This new Joyo was less than half the price of that one, and rather than buy another of the same brand and model (as it is very highly reviewed and I always thought I really liked it), I took a chance on the much cheaper Joyo, based on the reviews here and elsewhere. I have to say the build and performance of this pedal is anything but cheap - it actually blows my former flanger out of the water. Very low noise (like - none), it has more flexibility and tonal/sweep combinations than I could ever get out of the previous one - from a very subtle warm sweep to a full-blown jet plane psychedelic kaleidoscope. It melds well with my other pedals and neither adds or subtracts from the overall volume level - with no noise. Others have mentioned that the placement of the power adapter jack and the pedal input jack is a problem for them, in my pedal board configuration this was not an issue. I highly recommend this pedal and can say without hesitation that this is a five-star guitar flanger. Are there better flangers out there? Yes - there are, but at this price point the Joyo can credibly compete with other flangers at 4 times the price.Drummer and guitarist with over 45 years of performing and recording experience.

It's alright... Good
I saw someone on here comparing this pedal with the nux mod core pedal. Pretty funny because I just did the same exact thing. It's almost identical sounding. I have a couple of more flangers as well but it's pretty good for what it is. I'm glad I got a "used" one... It was just missing the box and instructions, but it's a solid functional unit. 16 bucks plus tax, can't beat it. I'm a sucker for pedals haha. I have over 100 pedals now lol total pedal junkie. But overall the sound is really a good flange that can be dialed in for a mild effect. It can get a bit more "flangier" new word I guess... π But it's not extreme. It's a quiet pedal and doesn't have the hard click when you activate it. Soft switch makes it more pleasant to use. I'd recommend it to anyone one really... Nothing wrong with it's performance and it's easier to dial in than a micro pedal if that counts for something. For the price... Enjoy, why not...π

UPDATE: after writing the review below, my flanger has developed a pretty serious problem. When it's in the off position it cuts my signal pretty severely. I've looked around but can't find a fix. Beware.I've been a guitar player for 28 years now. I like and play a lot of styles. I have a pretty decent ear. Caveat: I've never been a big effects guy. I've owned a few pedals over the years, but I've never used them much in my playing. I state that so you won't read too much into this review. This pedal is NICE. I've played some cheap flangers over the years, and maybe that's why I've never liked Flangers. To me they sounded like circus/sci fi toys. Anyhow, my tastes are changing some, and I'm now playing with effects more and more. This Joyo Flanger is very natural sounding. Organic. I watched a few youtube video reviews of this pedal, and I thought I'd be happy with the small investment. And I was right. For 45 bucks shipped to your door, this is a deal. The pedal itself seems to be of decent build. I guess I was hoping for MXR-ish quality, but this isn't that sturdy I don't think. The aluminum box seems okay, but it's just not that weighty in your hand. The knobs are a little cheap feeling. The stomp switch feels a little substandard. So who knows how long this thing will stand up.Love the Harrier graphic. It's my first Joyo, and based on this experience, I've ordered the Vintage Overdrive.

An actual classic in the making!
I have to add to my review below, the fact that this pedal affected my tone slightly even in the true bypass mode, a deal breaker for me. I'm using this to record with, so I only add it in to my pedal chain when I need it now...Every now and then a classic pedal sound appears, the MXR Phase 90 script for instance. Many try to copy or enhance these sounds but then they don't quite hit the mark.I've not tried the pedal this pedal is supposedly based on, but then I have tried a few flangers. Too many actually, I was becoming sceptical of ever finding one I can work with. It's going to take a while to figure out the controls, forget what's written on them, that makes no sense to me at least? Each control affects the tone in a certain way, and each control affects the others. The only one that does what it says is the speed knob. Well, maybe also the regen. But then delay and width are not so defined in my hearing yet? They affect the tone but I can't figure out what they are actually doing? It's easy to dial up a good tone, but it will take a while to find the sweet spots, I'm starting out via getting use to each knob, getting the range into my head. But then yes when you tweak one it affects the others so the blend will take time to figure out, I guess it will come naturally in time, with fun experimenting. This is the best I've tried so far, it's the sound I've been looking for, I'm happy, not looking for anything possibly better now!!!If this pedal had a channel scroll, so you could scroll through channels like with the Empress Nebulus, and better click switches. It would be a GREAT pedal. There's quite a few good sounds in that box, it would be nice to scroll through them.I had a problem with my delivery, mine came from Amazon USA, they used a different courier who missed my first delivery, then where an hour late the next day, it showed up at 10 pm.Read the reviews! It's a great pedal....I think it will stand as a classic!

Fun tool if you like this sort of thing
Fun tool if you like this sort of thing. I watched some YouTube videos to assist in ways of using it, worth doing as you can use it as a sort of chorus as well as the obvious swooshing. Well built and works great for the money. The one very small criticism would be the included 9v battery which expired very quickly, causing the pedal to squeal and hum. I replaced it with a good battery and all was great again. A benefit would be a description of the control names when compared with other pedals, everyone seems to name them differently.

Not so good.
Seems well built. My main concern is that it is difficult to find smooth and subtle effects. It will do extreme. The processed sound seems quite grainy and nasal. I prefer my Nux mod multi-modulation pedal that does flange, phase, chorus, pan, tremolo, vibrato, rotary and at least one more quite effectively.

Brilliant
Great sounds, not over the top like some pedals, subtle yet nice sound quality.

Good price but continues to slightly colour your bypassed signal.
Sounds good and feels relatively well made for the price. I don't know if mine was faulty, but if I turned my amp up loud enough, I was able to hear that the effect was still being applied to my guitar's signal (at a much reduced volume compared to when the pedal is on) when the pedal was bypassed, and the light was off. I stopped using it for this reason.
