UPDATE: I received an email from Rick thanking me for bringing up the defective product. He asked if a refund was alright with me. He didn't ask anything about changing this review so I greatly applaud them for that. It really shows he's worried about the customers experience. This file is actually of exceptional quality and I recommend it! It only had a blemish on one side which like I said was corrected with a refund - the other side works great though. I've already sharpened 3 hooks with it and I mean BIG swimbaits hooks. One hook was a 10/0 Owner Beast hook and the other 2 were 1/0 Owner ST-36. I just saved money on hooks! This is the least expensive file in Amazon and it's great! Oh, I can't forget Rick with the customer support! Thanks Rick!OLD REVIEW:This file is good quality but came with a decent size imperfection almost directly in the middle of one side. That's not a gouge - it's actually excess stone or metal sticking up higher than the rest. It may seem like I'm blowing this out of proportion but let me tell you why this is an issue. This imperfection will be in the way when sharpening - meaning I will never be able to sharpen a blade with it as it will chip and dull the blade. I should be able to use it for fish hooks but this excess material will be annoying for that too.I would just return it and not worry about it but I don't enjoy having waste gas and time to go out my way to return a product that is messed up from the factory and somehow skipped quality control. The gas to return this product will cost as much as it did to buy it. At this time I suggest spending the extra $2 or $3 on a product that isnt defective.If the seller would like to reach out and make this correct that's fine with me. You sent a paper with the file saying to leave a review so... I'm your second review and it's not looking good right now. Will update review if anything changes.

Was able to sharpen my fishing hooks fast and easy.

Great little file for walleye fishing. Jigs in the rocks in my area is effective and keeping a point is important. using cheap bronze hook jigs as we lose a lot and don’t need to spend the money on jigs you lose too often. Nice little file.

Smaller than I thought. But I will try it out their spring when out in a boat. I don’t. Are how small it is as long as it sharpens the hooks well.

My husband bought one of these for fishing and taking barbs off of hooks, which it easily does. However it soon became my favorite nail file and I had to purchase one for myself to keep in the house. Ladies this is a GREAT nail file, it smoothes your edges and you will stop catching your nails on things! We will always have one of these in our house from here on out and one with our fishing gear!
