Great Tone and functionality!!
Amazing!! It’s like 4 pedals in one with the separate preamp, and the two stage distortion is killer! Before using two pedals one for crunch and one for solos I had to switch one off and the other one on, this eliminates that !! Plus the noise gate means total silence!

It’s a good preamp for solid state players.
It wasn’t what I was expecting for the price.

Amazing versatile pedal
I love this pedal, not only this is a distortion pedal but it is a good clean preamp with a built in noise gate without the fuss of extra cables and plugging it in to your FX loop. Plus you can activate the clean channel and distortion channel at the same time and can act like a boost! Pricey but worth every penny!

Great sounding distortion with integrated noise gate makes it worth the asking price.
I have had this pedal for 6 months now and really like it. I had been using a rack system with an ADA MP-1 which I really like the distortion tone of, I don't regret moving away from that to the simplicity of a pedal board and this as the main pedal. The integrated noise gate is excellent. Having the two gain settings is nice. I'm really happy with the distortion sound. I haven't really dialed in a solid clean sound, but I hardly play clean. Some things I think are worth mentioning:-I can put other distortion pedals in front of this and use this as a preamp, (I'm plugging into a rack power amp) If the pedals are not excessively noisy the noise gate will still work, there is a balance between getting it set for pedals before it and having it not affect the tone when using the distortion channel on the theta. Using this as a preamp after a distortion pedal doesn't seem to make any excessive noise.-Using the preamp pushing the distortion it took some tweaking to get the levels even between the clean and distortion channels. I could still run more gain/volume out of this if it weren't for trying to match the preamp/clean output to when the distortion is engaged. But it probably isn't necessary to go any hotter. You can get a ridiculous amount of distortion and still clean it up with the decimator.

Well thought out, great and highly tweakable tones.
I've had the Theta Preamp for a couple of years now. Amazing sound and functionality. I use it as a standalone preamp in the effects return of a combo amp, and with a power amp and cabinet. I've also used it plugged into the input of a backline amp. The bass and treble control frequencies are just at the right values, and the sweepable mid control really let's you dial in whatever tone you're after. You can run the channels separately, and run the clean channel into the distortion for more tone and gain flavors. The distortion channel has two footswitchable gain settings, that range from mild to very heavy. The built in decimator works very well at keeping any unwanted noise away.
