Works great. Solid Construction.
Well built, solid housing. Easy to configure. I was so surprised by the solid construction that I went on their website to see if they had anything else that I could use.

Great for connecting an old TV to a new soundbar
My TV is old and only has a S/PDIF (RCA Coax) output. My new soundbar only has HDMI ARC/eARC and Toslink (optical) inputs. I used this adapter to connect my TV to my soundbar by converting the S/PDIF connection to a Toslink connection. It seems to work well. I am not noticing any sync or lag issues. Both PCM and Dolby 5.1 audio formats work. I can power the adapter using the "update only" USB port on the soundbar. It is nice that the adapter came with cables.

Works great for my application
I wanted to free up an analog input on an audio interface and read someone said this product worked with the exact hardware I have. I am using a Fractal Audio FM3 with Audient EVO16. Running the SPIDF out of the FM3, to this, to the EVO optical input. So far all is good. For the price can't beat it, it works, and I am just a music hobbyist type.

Good solution
Had a tv with RCA style coaxial jack. Sound bar had optical in. This little device has allowed them to work together.

Excellent for S/PIDF
Use it from my Kemper profiling head, or Helix Floor S/PIDF outs, which are both coax, to the input of my Apollo Twin interface, which is an optical port. I used to have a Focusrite interface, which had a coax in/out, and there doesn't seem to be any sound quality issues with this converter. Just make sure you have a really good digital coax like a Mogami, as the one sent with the converter seems like just a cheap coax cable.(A Digital Coaxial connection uses a cable that has RCA-type connectors. Digital coaxial cable is different from the standard RCA cable in that it is designed to handle the wider frequency bandwidth of the digital audio bit stream.)Optical signal is optical signal, so the one sent with the converter is fine, unless you wanted to get something that appears to be more durable.

The Solution
I needed something to hook up my older Phillips receiver to a newer LG smart TV and the old RCA to hdmi method didnt work out. Tried different combos and went with this unit after a bit more research. It did the trick and I can enjoy my setup again.Thank you!
