Watch out not to overheat the bushing…
On first use, you have to be aware that small dimple is created by the set screw holding the bushing in the plastic housing. This causes heating and localized melting around the perimeter of the stainless steel bushing at the interface with the plastic. Once you get past that it works pretty well. That is to say the dimple is worn away by the flutes of the drillbit. use a little grease and that’ll help.

Needed to drill straight thru the 4 x 4 posts in order to keep the lines parallel and straight
Needed to buy a .250 extended drill bit to use with the block, but worked perfectly with the inserts. Down side was the hydraulic tool which lost some of its crimping capacity when hot outside or used a lot, otherwise all went well.

Sleeves come out when using
Sleeves can bind up and come out when using. It became more of a pain to use. Found out you still need to drill from both sides for the best outcome.

Easy to use drill guide
Our 11 year old twins decided to make a 4x4 post stuck in the ground into a bottle tree. Son Evan was designated to drill the hole for the dowels which held the bottles . The 30 degree angle provided by the drill guide was perfect. The guide was easy to use and made drilling the holes a snap.

Hard to position into target
There is no easy way to position the unit so that the drill is centered on the hole. It is hard enough for straight drilling - eyeballing the target to be on the center of the hole guide. But, it is impossible to see the target hole when drilling for 45 degree. At its current price, this tool is not worth it.
