Update: I've been using this product for almost 6 weeks and I am so blessed to be able to have this product! The crusts on my scalp and flakes have continued to reduce and are barely there at all! This has given me a way to treat my dandruff daily with a moisturizing curl-safe product while also cutting down on shampoo. So pleased! Also the method of storing upside down and removing the cap to dispense has been so easy and works just fine. Original review: I have a severe form of dandruff called seborrheic dermatitis. Due to having very dry, curly hair I quit shampooing my hair regularly and use this conditioner instead. It's helping my seborrheic dermatitis a lot, it took a while but after two and a half weeks my flakes are hugely reduced and the crust on my scalp is almost totally gone. The bottle is slightly squeezable however the product is so thick it's hard to squeeze out as others have said. I store it upside down which is easy to do due to the shape of the bottle, and when I use it I simply unscrew the cap and squeeze some into my hand. It's very easy to do this way and I don't have to cut the bottle open or anything, which I was afraid I'd have to do. It's hard to find dandruff conditioners, especially ones that comply with Curly Girl Method like this one does, so I'm very grateful for it and have always thought derma e makes great products. Just glad it's way easier to use than I anticipated from the reviews.

Months of horrible products in a severe flare and this is amazing!!! The cooling tingle, calming feeling, I can breathe. I hope it lasts. The only thing I don’t understand is I couldn’t get it out of the bottle, I’m gonna have to figure out a different way because you can’t squeeze the bottle to get anything out.

Good product, it feels good on my scalp, but they need to work on the packaging. The conditioner is really thick and it’s nearly impossible to get it out of the bottle. I read others reviews about the packaging and thought they were being overly particular, they weren’t wrong.

Product seemed good, smelled great, and hopefully helps my mothers scalp. However the bottle is really difficult. The plastic is way to hard to squeeze, so you end up having to take off the cap and bang into hand and still it is to hard to squeeze, really made it difficult to use.

Super effective, very clean ingredients. Much better than a typical dandruff or scalp health soap. This is something I have used for a couple years and absolutely love the icyhot feel it has, its almost a cooling effect on the scalp. Love it.

Purchased in June 2026. Container is too hard to squeeze, so you can't get the product out. I had several people try and they had no success. Left it upside down overnight and it did not drain down. Container is a hard plastic, product is too thick. My suggestion is DO NOT BUY ! I have never ran into this problem with any other conditioners including generic. I give it a 1 out of 10 star and that is being Polite.

1 year update: I'm still using this conditioner, now with the matching shampoo. Still no itch, no flakes and after going 1 year without a haircut, the stylist commented on how healthy my hair was (he had a year before too when I had just recently switched to this conditioner). This is the longest I've ever stuck with a hair product I love it that much. This conditioner has changed my hair. I have really fine (like silk) hair but have suffered from dandruff and itching for years. I'm not going to say my hair was unhealthy, but it's so much healthier now. I was so reluctant to buy this because it is kind of expensive, but it was a great decision. I don't think I can go back to what I used to use.

I have used DermaE Scalp Relief shampoo daily for years because it keeps my scalp healthy like no other shampoo I ever used. And I’ve tried them all for fifty plus years after being diagnosed with psoriasis as an adolescent. But I never tried the accompanying conditioner until I ordered it online by mistake thinking I was ordering the shampoo. Wow, it is amazing! The cool tingling while it works is wonderful. But it’s the way it leaves your hair that is most amazing - soft and frizz-free with fantastic styling results. Don’t make my mistake, use the conditioner with the shampoo and have fun.

This conditioner was recommended to me and has always been my go to between my kids and i who suffer from seborrheic dermatitis. We tend to get extremely dry and itchy scalps. The trick is to be generous with the conditioner and let it sit for a few minutes. I find that when I am not generous with the amount of conditioner, then my scalp suffers. It does not have an unpleasant or chemical scent like some medicated conditioners. It does tingle a little but not overpowering in comparison to other ones. It’s definitely been our favorite.

It does act a bit like a shampoo in how it cleans and removes oil. But a very mild shampoo. It feels refreshing on the scalp for sure. I have less dandruff flakes after using it personally, less itch, and I alternative between this and a shampoo every second day. I would not use it with a shampoo on the same day. It has some menthol in it which you can feel immediately. I was not a big for of this feeling+scent at first but happy with it now. The bottle is stiff and not always easy to get the product out - must leave upside down.
