Tifosi Optics Veloce Photochromic Sunglasses Crystal Clear/Light Night, One Size - Men's

Medium priced photochromatic clear glasses that actually work
OK, $80-90 isn't cheap, but it is a lot more affordable than the big name brands and these are a lot better than the ~$25 offerings on Amazon. I had tried two of the $25 brands and the glasses felt very cheaply made and the photochromatic performance was unimpressive, though they did change darkness to some degree. These Tifosi felt and look much better in quality and what I assume will translate to longevity. They transition fairly quickly either direction and they get dark enough for me.I use clear glasses for MTB riding for eye protection. The photochromatic feature is ideal to make these useful in shadowy tree covered areas as well as sun-baked open exposed sections. I just rode about 75 miles total over 5 days in Moab and these glasses were by far the best clear glasses I've ever worn MTBing. I have a large head yet I never felt pressure or discomfort, even after 4 hours on the trail. I'm very happy with these glasses and they are absolutely worth the 3-4x premium over the very cheap glasses one can get through Amazon.

Well built, all purpose riding glasses
The build of these is solid, and they have a much more substantial feel than $25 range glasses but are not heavy on the face. The amount of darkening is fine, but more importantly they are not too dark in low light. For dawn and dusk riding, the ability to lighten up is key. The other role for riding glasses is physical protection for the eyes. The lenses sit more flush with the face and allow little side air in. I have a bad habit of buying cheap riding glasses which sit unused due to some flaw, so not really a bargain. These are mid range price and I am not sure what more I would want that would justify the high end pairs in the hundreds of dollars.

Glare
The glasses were pretty well made but the transition is minimal. there was a glare, especially in the full florida sun.

Tag on glasses retail $69.95. Amazon charged 79.95.
Love tifosi glasses. Very disappointed that Amazon charged $10 over retail!

Survived an Expedition Race
These are great for nighttime and rain bike riding, as well as trekking and bushwhacking. Protected my eyeballs from quite a few objects. In addition, the transition lenses get dark enough to take the edge off of bright sunshine, allowing me to wear these for nonstop day and night outdoor activities for 6 days. The lenses popped out a couple times when they were in a gear bag, but I popped them back in no problem. Cleaned them with soap and water at the end of the race and they are good to go another round of beating. Excellent value for the money.

Better than Oakleys
I've worn all kinds of sunglasses for running, and these are my favorites. They are lightweight, fit snugly, never fall off, rarely fog, and adjust to the intensity of the sunlight. Their only shortcoming is in bright, direct sunlight, but since I rarely run in the desert, I don't mind. For less than half the price of comparable Oakleys, they are a steal. Love them.

Excellent riding glasses!!
I love these glasses for riding my sporrbike. The thickness of the sides that go on your ears is a bit "thick" sliding inro a Shoei-RF1200, but, I doubt rhwy were designed for this. If you ride in a hot climate area (AZ, FL, etc), and need to open your helmet for air on occasion (below 60mph), this is an excellent choice for visibility. These glasses darken by the amount of sun hitting them. I will agree that I wish they could get darker. At least 20% more. But for what they are, they work for me. My one issue, and this is a big one; the lenses pop out when cleaning too easily. This is unacceptible. I ordered these glasses with single lens; make them permanently attached!! I can't stand it when cleaning the lenses with a micro fiber towel and the left lens pops out. Fix this. Make it permanently mounted!!

Why so long
Love the lenses changing for sun to shade while hiking. But do they need to go all the way to the back of my head. Arms of glasses way too long.
