No shaving cream, no aftershave, just the oil. I get good, drama-free shaves & I couldn't be happier with the performance. Pro tips: wet your face first, then apply oil, then wait a few minutes before shaving. Then wet your face again right before you start shaving and you're good to go. If you shave with the oil "dry" it won't work nearly as well.
