Could beat a small animal to death with these things
I paid full price for these measuring cups so my review may or may not be nitpicky. These cups arrived in a single box, stacked inside each other with paper wrapped around each cup to protect the finish. These are very nice and sturdy. I like the weight. All the cups stack nicely with the handles together or staggered and are easy to separate. All cups, including the 1/4 cup sat flat on the counter top while empty so you don't have to worry about them tipping over. The 1/4 cup has a marking inside at the half way point showing 1/8 cup. The 1 cup has markings inside showing 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 cup. The others don't have any interior markings. The handles are attached with two big rivets and feel very solid and secure. The handle for the 1/4 cup felt a little short to me. I would like it to be maybe 3/4 - 1" longer, but maybe that's why it doesn't tip over when empty. The box says these are 18/10 stainless steel. I hand washed and put these away. No rusting issues like some other reviews that are several years old. I'm disappointed that these are made in China when All-Clad likes to tout that all their other stuff is made in the USA. Maybe that's why they don't even list these cups on their website. Some people have asked if these could be used on the stove to melt butter or something similar. While they look like small pans, the metal is still pretty thin compared to an actual cooking pan. I have a "warming" section on my stove that I'd probably trust with the 1 cup size but I'm not so sure about the others. The instructions say these are dishwasher capable, so I'll be trying that out the next time I use them. Right now I'm very pleased with these. If anything changes after a lot of use, I'll update my review and describe any problems, but at nearly 10 times the price of a cheapo set from WalMart, I don't expect to have any issues.Minor update: I've run these through the dishwasher (top rack only) multiple times with no problems. So far I've had no issue with food getting stuck around the rivets on the inside of the cup, as another reviewer mentioned a while ago.Two minor complaints:1. The holes in the handles are too small to fit through the prongs on the little rack I use to hang my measuring cups and spoons. I've had to stack these in the drawer for now.2. The cups are tall and narrow, compared to my old set that was wider and more shallow. As such, it's harder to fill them when scooping out stuff like flour or sugar, if you're using a somewhat narrow container for your dry goods. If you're scooping out of a 5-gallon bucket you'll be fine, but otherwise you might need a spoon to top off the cup. If I could, I'd deduct 1/4 star for this inconvenience.5 year update: Hard to believe it's been 5 years since I bought these. I've washed these in the dishwasher countless times. No rust and the cups look the same as they did new. Still would like longer handles on the smaller cups though. Buying another set today as a wedding gift for someone who previously complemented me on my set.

Solid and Heavy, Thick Steel
These are all I could ever want in a set of measuring cups. When I picked up the box, I was surprised at how heavy they are. Other measuring cups I have used were made of thin steel. They are thick, made of 16 gauge stainless steel for the cup part. The handles are thicker made of 11 gauge stainless steel. Also, the handle is riveted so they don't break off.The finish is polished and good quality. There is a chain that holds the cups together.I'm looking to get products that will last my lifetime and not need replacement. I know these are expensive but they'll be the last set you'll ever need.

The Mother of all Measuring Cups
These are some serious measuring cups. I spend a majority of my time cooking, so I've begun replacing all kitchen tools with high quality items. The price on this was tough. Nearly $50 for measuring cups, was I crazy?! Back in the day, that was my weekly grocery budget. But, my second to last remaining cheapo Wal-Mart measuring cup broke with the heaviness of sourdough starter, so I bit the bullet and ordered these.I was not disappointed. The package was super heavy, and I wondered if I'd ordered the wrong thing. I was used to scrappy plastic sets that bend, scratch, and break. These things are like mini pots. Being that they are stainless steel, I could probably use them as such. They have long handles, which allow me to reach into containers without sticking my whole arm in. The measures are engraved on the handles, so I don't have to worry about stickers fading. Additionally, there are halfway and 3/4 measures on the inside of the cups. For instance, the 1/4 cup has a halfway ridge marking the 1/8 cup. It's very helpful in case one cup is dirty, or you just don't want to have 47 different cups out.The shape of the cups is very narrow and deep. This allows me to fit it in smaller openings. For instance, I mill my own flour and store it in gallon glass jars in the refrigerator. With my old set, I couldn't go higher than a 1/2 cup. The 1 cup easily fits in the mouth of the jar.I have only had these for a couple weeks, so time will tell if they rust. However, I think that's mostly up to me as the caretaker. If I take care of them, they shouldn't rust.I have to say...I don't regret the price of these at all. I'm amazed that they even make awesome measuring cups like this. I don't think I will need to buy another set for my lifetime. If you are a serious cook, and spend a lot of time in the kitchen, these are for you. You won't regret it.

Extremely nice, and it should be given the price
First: There were some comments of people saying they received the 4 cups version, so I made sure to message Amazon to clarify how many I would be getting. They confirmed it would get 5 measuring cups, and that is what I received. These measuring cups are VERY sturdy and will likely outlast me. The measurements are engraved into the handle so they won't come off. There are "half" measurements on the inside of some of the cups (like the 1/8 mark on the 1/4 cup for example) and I'm hoping those last a long time as well. There are cheaper measuring cups out there for sure, but I wanted something that I would never need to buy again.

Quality and weight was beyond what I expected
They are beautiful, way more in person then what the pics do justice. They are heavy and all look like tiny pots. I am surprisingly very excited about these measuring cups. The lines on the inside are nice but not sure how long that printed lines will last. Luckily the main size measurement isn't printed.Highly recommended!!!!.
