Pyrex Bake 'N Store Glass Food Bakeware and Storage Containers (28-Piece Set, BPA Free Lids)

I don’t know a household that does not have Pyrex dishes. I was raised by a mother that had a set and when I moved out of the house, I bought my own. I am now in my early 40’s and the set I have still does not show any wear but they are slowing disappearing when I give leftovers to friends are family. I even writer my name with a Sharpie. I am certain they are just forgetting to return them; I mean why else would they keep them?I know why, Pyrex is amazing! I have a set; well half of one now that has the navy lids. This set is different though, the casserole pans have handles and the lids go over the handles so it is easier to hold, I love it! There is four dessert bowls with a design up top which I love serving tapioca pudding in. The smaller containers, perfect for sauces or leftover gravy. The mixing bowl has a lid which comes in handy if you whip something up and need to place it in the fridge to cool. Now with the lid, the contents remain fresh. The other bowls I have that are left, I can now use the blue or red lids on them.This is perfect with the holidays coming up. I am always making casseroles or we bring empty containers to save food to bring home, well now my set is different with the red lids so no mixing them up with the rest of the family. I have washed these in the dishwasher and they wash very well, no water marks! I have heard horror stories from people were their Pyrex exploded in the oven, on top on the counter cooling down, you name it. I luckily have never have an issue, not even a chip on them!Pyrex is the company I trust with my baking and storing needs and it is just in time for the upcoming holidays!

This is a very nice set, and an excellent value, however there are a couple issues. The description says you get 2 each 2-cup and 4-cup pieces, and 3 each 1-cup and 3-cup pieces. That is not what I received. I received 3 1-cup, 3 2-cup and 2 4-cup pieces, and no 3-cup pieces. The picture appears to be accurate however. Also, the given sizes do not quite hold the stated amount. Using a measuring cup I poured one cup of water into a 1-cup piece, and the water overflowed just a little bit. Same with the 2-cup piece. Even if my measuring cup is off a bit, there is no way you would get the stated volume into the dishes and still get the lid on without making a mess. These issues are not a problem for my intended usage, but could be a problem for someone else.Otherwise, the set was well packaged and arrived intact. There is a small hardly noticeable blemish on the 7-cup dish, and the raised lettering on some of the dishes is very hard to read. As others have mentioned, these are definitely not the old glass that Pyrex made their reputation with, as they are perfectly clear without the slight greenish tint, and the lids are much less flexible than the old ones. We will see how well they hold up to everyday use.

As always, Pyrex continues to impress me with their high quality glass products. This set has been excellent to have and my wife and I recommend them for every household. The lids for the 2 and 3 quart oblong dishes are different than what we're used to and were kind of hard to put on the first couple of times but after that we have grown to love the design.These are MUCH better to use for storing leftovers and reheating than the plastic containers are. They don't stain or discolor when you put lasagna or taco meat in them, like many of our plastic ones have, and they come preheated, making them oven, microwave, fridge, freezer & dishwasher safe which is basically everything that our plastic ones are not. After washing they don't leave behind any residue food smells.We've run them through the dishwasher, thrown them in the oven and used them in the microwave already and they've performed excellently so far. Haven't tested them out in the freezer yet but I'm sure they'll hold up just fine like they always do.As a note of interest, take a look at this consumer report that demonstrates the difference between soda-lime and borosilicate glass bake ware. Bought this to get rid of the plastic stuff that is plagued with issues such as staining, sticking, or melting/warping. These clean very easily, stack well enough and I have yet to see any stains, plus they look good. They are heavy, and glass will break when dropped though I haven't had that happen yet so I don't know how breakable these are as of yet but it's bound to happen. For the price I am not worried and am looking to purchase this set again for additional storage and finally get rid of all the crappy plastic containers I have. But these are heavy and that should be kept in mind if you transport food a lot, such as bringing to work for lunches. I have also has Pyrex break on me in the past from microwaving as well as in the oven due to the sudden temperature changes so that has me worried since cleanup in those situations was hell, but I'll just be careful to not put cold glass in a hot situation :)

I would have loved to give five stars, but the lids leave a little to be desired. Several of the lids tabs have broken off, making it difficult (not impossible) to open. But, a couple lids have broken along the edge rendering them useless. However the bowls themselves are extremely durable! The three stars for ease of cleaning just make this set equivalent to every other plastic choice. Put any kind of red sauce in them and they are permanently stained. But, honestly, we all really expect that... don’t we?

The first piece of Pyrex that I purchased was about 18 years ago and I still have it. I bought 2 of these sets for each of my daughters. They are Non-Toxic and they can go from the freezer to the microwave or oven and not break. The only thing is after many years you will need to buy a new lid as the plastic does lose its ability to seal as all plastic lids do. I would definitely recommend pyrex and it is the the perfect gift for any child, newly wed couple ect. starting out.

Great set, worth every penny.

Love Pyrex and this set is no exception. It came when expected and everything looks great. Unfortunately, before ever even using them, while washing them, one of the lids for the largest 3-quart oblong baking dish broke for no apparent reason. But the rest of them are great.
