Nice deadbolt, good price but don't try to use the key when installing it. :)
I needed a new deadbolt since the old schlage was worn. Ordered this replacement because it was Grade 1. I spent 15 minutes measuring everything because when I put the key in to check prior to completing the installation (didn't turn the instructions over to the second side) I couldn't get the key out when the deadbolt was locked. What!! This is an easy install if you put it together then use the key. It works but I was a bit annoyed that I failed to see the rest of the instructions - all my fault of course.I may buy a second one and rekey it to match this deadbolt. I will try it for a while before deciding if I purchase a second one. It is good quality and heavy duty. Plus there are options for installing it to make it more secure. Just read the instructions first. :)

I had a beautiful, decorative, Schlage bolt for residential addresses. I thought it was perfect even though it was never put to the ultimate test of being kicked in… Then I found a really ugly plain boring Schlage deadbolt that is commercial grade. So are you looking for a beauty or are you looking for safety. That’s up to you. According to my locksmith if someone wants in there getting in. At least with the commercial grade, you have a few extra seconds/minutes to decide how to take care of the dork intruder.
