Shank's Root Beer Extract, 4 fl oz

This had to be ordered online, because local retailers do not carry it. I made a Root Beer Float Pie with it. Went over really well, it was gone in 2 days. The flavor was right on. It actually tasted like a root beer float (in a pie!) You can use it to flavor a lot of different things too. Great for baking! Can't wait to bake something new with it or maybe make some root beer.

Great homemade rootbeer flavor! It brings back many childhood memories. I cut back on the suggested sugar, and it worked just fine.

I was disappointed in the size of the bottle. I was going by the picture rather than the oz listed. From the posted picture, the price, and then the large box that it arrived in I was shocked to find a pretty small bottle. The post did say that it was 4 oz, but the picture led me to expect a lot more. I just received it today, so I have not opened the bottle.

I bought this as a zero-calorie dessert …kinda. I’m not a smoker, but had long thought that products like vapes and Fum sticks were an interesting potential to have the flavor I wanted without the calories. The problem is that I didn’t want the chemicals.I finally picked up the flavoring when I found a 3D printed similar object that I could print (Labeled the Quitstick+) that used a cotton wick. That was good enough for me! The root beer flavor is fantastic. Plus, because of the way your nose works, I can’t just sit and suck on the thing. A few minutes of my nose putting the flavor in my mouth and it stops smelling it, preventing me from having too weird of a habit.Like I said, though, the flavor is excellent. I’m looking forward to trying it in some actual candies or (as one reviewer mentioned) using it to make ice cream.

Good root beer taste. I made my initial batch in a corny keg. I didn’t add enough sugar initially and didn’t need the yeast - left a yeasty after taste. Next time I’ll skip the yeast and just force carbonate with the CO2 for my kegerator. For me this was about a $12 project since all I needed was the extract and about five pounds of sugar; the other equipment I had on hand.

Very disappointed. Went to use this & when removing the outside seal it was sticky with the extract.I can see the outside cap is cracked. We finished opening it & there isn’t even an inside foil or plastic seal like other extracts I’ve purchasedSince it’s a food item I can’t return it. Out the $ 😣

A little disappointed for what I wanted it for but I believe this will be a great product for other cooking or beverage items.
