About the Actor Martial artist and Hong Kong action star Donnie Yen was born in Canton, China, on July 27, 1963 to newspaper editor Klyster Yen and martial arts master Bow Sim Mark. At the age of four, Donnie started taking up martial arts from his mother who taught him tai chi and wushu until he was eleven when he moved to Boston, MA, with his family. From there, Donnie continued with tai chi and wushu but soon also began experimenting with various others martial art styles, such as taekwondo, kickboxing and boxing, after developing a huge interest in martial arts. When he was sixteen, his parents sent him to Beijing Wushu Academy so he could train Chinese MA under Master Wu Bin, well known as the coach of Jet Li. He underwent intensive training for three years. After those years passed by, he was about to leave back to the States, but made a side trip to Hong Kong, and there he was accidentally introduced to famous Hong Kong action director Woo-ping Yuen, who was responsible for bringing Jackie Chan to super stardom and was looking for someone new to star in his movies. Donnie was offered a screen test and thereafter a 4-picture deal after passing it; first starting with stunt doubling duty on the movie The Miracle Fighters before starring in his first film, Drunken Tai Chi, at the age of 19. He continued his early film career working independently with Woo-ping Yuen and at TVB, gaining more acting experience, and then started getting attention in the late 1980s and mid 1990s after he was offered a contract by the D&B Films Co. whom gave him major roles in the well known films Tiger Cage, In the Line of Duty 4 and Tiger Cage 2 which got his reputation spread out within the Hong Kong film circuit. Fluid martial arts
The choreography is fluid, showing realistic offensive and defensive tactics. Some fantastical moments (e.g., floating) pay homage to classic martial arts movies. The storyline provides ample rationale for the antagonist's actions, while an inspirational sub-message is conveyed regarding overcoming inborn or acquired physical challenges.The acting was good, and the subtitles sufficiently told the story.

Great fights.
It's a very good movie for its genre. I love that it doesn't have slow motion fights or people flying around. The movie kicks off (no pun intended) with the protagonist beating down 17 guys in a prison cafeteria. He hears the news of a murder on television and demands to speak to the investigator in charge of the case. He draws her attention by telling her the names of upcoming victims. The supporting martial artists in the movie do a fantastic job. Each fight has a unique angle, setting and motive. That's how the movie delivers so much action. It's not just a few fights or drawn out by training sequences. I reserve 5/5 stars for classics. This one is still a fun watch and earned every bit of 4/5 stars. Donnie Yen does a great job but I really applaud his costars in this one as well. People complaining about the movie not being dubbed in English and ranking it 1/5 stars are ridiculous. They are just salty. There's also no need to compare this movie to Donnie Yen's best work. You can just watch it and enjoy it. It's not an emotional roller coaster here people. It's an action movie.

Everybody was kung fu fighting!
Great action in this one. Each kung fu master provides a different and exciting battle. Mosty, Donnie Yen's performance is amazing. Get it. Watch it. Love it. Watch it again.

Donnie Yen Rocks!
Yet another excellent Donnie Yen film. Who cares if you need subtitles turned on. This is an international film and many other highly acclaimed foreign films are not spoken in the English language, thus the needed subtitles. A few of the incredibility good films from the IP Man series and others from him are not spoken in English either. I would MUCH rather read subtitles than hear some clown trying to lip-sink the words over the soundtrack. Spoiler alert: The final fight scene is second to none. Donnie Yen proved himself again with his absurdly professional choreographic skills. Very realistic fight scene with a good ending. Check out how many people it took to make this film on the end credits. Read up on this guy - He's very popular and good at what he does outside of his movie work as well. I give this film a high five and 2 thumbs up, subtitles and all. Bravo Donnie Yen! Encore! Encore!

Excellent displays of Martial Arts Fighting
Donnie Yen is the man! His 'IP Man' movies are my favorite martial arts movies. His fighting in'Kung Fu Killer' is his usual high quality display of his mastery of martial arts.I liked the build up to the final fight. Wang Baoqiang's character looks like an unstoppable killing machine while taking on various masters and defeating them all to the death !......that is until he goes up against Donnie Yen's character.

Action, clean No heads or ears to be cover or cover lol Donnie your awsm but other movies you made must be a perverted director SMH. Donnie stay away from them your way to better than that.

Superb martial arts film with a message!
Loved the movie. It has a good story, superb and surprising martial arts and interesting set up. The blu-ray has English dub, as well as original audio and subtitles, so it's a win-win.It is also a movie with a message! I was surprised by this and it further elevated the movie in my mind! Once I understood it's grand message in the end, I saw the movie through a different perspective. Also, the credits are excellently done and give credit/pay tribute to many famous martial artists, throughout time, like Bruce Lee, among many others, so it's yet another super-cool thing!Overall, if you are a fan of martial arts like Ip Man, then this is the movie you were waiting for! If you just like to watch good, entertaining action movies, you will enjoy this one as well!

Amazing donnie yen
This film was outstanding , after I sat down with a cup of tea and a biscuit , five minutes into it I was only concentrating on only the film, so much so my phone made me jump.Where do I start, Donnie Yen as always had a very good role, his technique is perfected! The fight scenes with Donnie were spectacular. The story line I would give an 8/10 and for a while I thought I had the story line figured and then there was a twist. Everybody did well in character.I would recommend this film to anyone who loves a great action film with donnie yen and great fight scenesFast postage and packaging from zoverstock.Happy , happy , happy
