This is a terrific book for sunbelt gardeners combining practical and effective design ideas with excellent horticultural advice. It is clear that the authors not only enjoy gardening, but that they love to create beauty. The book is filled with useful illustrations and photos that inspire one to build and maintain a garden - a beautiful garden - in large and small spaces. This is a great gift book as well as a must have for a southern gardener.

Lots of great gardening ideas and details on how to maintain. I bought a similar book for my daughter-in-law for the region of the country where they live. They were truly inspired by it.

Very nice book. It tells the exact quantity of plants and types used to create each outdoor space.

Not as good as other books of same topic.

This book is about suburban landscape design 50 miles inland and even then creating designs by bringing in soils that mostly don’t exist natively. No real talk on dealing with sandy soil, no real talk on salt. Go to the hardware store and buy a truckload of soil from the Midwest to create a faux garden-scape. Pretty yes but very suburban. And a practice that can only work inland. Coastal environments need to work more natively, I’ve painfully found, because you can’t take on Mother Nature. This book does not help with actual coastal Landscape design.

Excited to look thru this book. It has many ideas (plant listings, planting info) that will be helpful in landscaping my new Caribbean home.
