it was too small. he would have barely fit in it. the resturn was great and i was able to order a large one. my son is 8 and a large is a little big one him but where we hunt its cold and he would need to have a coat on under it. he loves it. good strong and durable.

Good hunting vest for young boy with multiple pockets to put snacks

The vest is nice and appears a great value. We like it...but the sizing is pretty small. Maybe you can benefit from what we learned.My son is 11, almost 12 and in the 50th percentile for his age. He's 4'10" and 82 pounds. He's got a thin build and has not matured yet. Having read other reviews saying the vest runs small, we knew enough to order the Large (14-16 years) instead of the medium (10-12 years). The Large fits perfectly today, even over a coat, but leaves virtually no room for growth, particularly in length. These vests are relatively short in body length, separating them from adult sizes.Knowing he would get only one or two seasons (a few uses) from the vest before outgrowing it, we ordered an XL (18yrs) to see how it compares. It's substantially larger in girth and still relatively short compared to adult sizes. Its girth is too big for him but we determined the extra size, with the way it hangs, will not get in the way or adversely affect his shooting/hunting performance. Importantly, the XL offers him the opportunity to grow and keep the same vest for several years, making it the better value in our determination.At this price, we considered keeping both (the Large fits him really well right now). In the end, we returned the Large and kept the XL. We think it will work out fine for now and best in the long run.

Very well made fits exact to measurements excellent vest for young kids

I purchased this for my wife she wears an adult size small or medium most times and this youth large fit her perfectly and saved money instead of getting an adult size. She loves it and has a great amount of orange so shes safe.

I bought this for my granddaughter and really didn't expect much in terms of quality, but I was hoping to get a couple of years out of it. Well, to my surprise, this has the quality of gear that I use. In fact, she has three younger siblings who I'm sure will be wearing this if they decide to go hunting with pap.

My biggest question was sizing. I wish they offered a helpful sizing chart. I ended up guessing.My daughter is six 1/2 years, she's tall and lean.My son is 3 years & 9 months. He's pretty big for his ageIt's very late in the season so...I wanted a size that they can share this year (over winter coats) and my son hopefully won't outgrow before next year.I went with a size small. On the vest it shows: S(7-8)I guessed well. It is exactly what I needed.I really like the vest. My kids loved it. I'll be pleased to order another next fall as my daughter will be ready for the next size then
