The grips themselves are clearly made to be ground to fit per application there are "built up" areas of material around sections that can be easily filed for a custom fit. Bottom line is 45 minutes later and a pile of plastic these grips fit perfectly and look great. Function: The included hardware is functional and easy to install, the grips are not any wider than the set of hogue wrap around grips I took off to install them (they may feel "wider" to people who use panel grips as any wrap around grip does. I was going to stiple the grips when I got them but there is no need the raised grip texture is pretty effective. Feels good in the hand and the rail works perfectly. But then, after mounting both sides to my 1911, I was very impressed at the sturdiness and tightness of the grips. I ordered two and thought that I would really punish the first set to see just how solid and tight I could get them. I was able to screw down all screws until they stopped and didn't crack or damage the grips at all. I also bought a light for the rail and it is very solid. snaps into place and doesn't move at all. All in all, $50.00 well spent and I'm very satisfied. I would recommend to all home defenders. Not necessarily competition ready as the rail is not part of the gun, but certainly well designed enough for a light. These are the compact models w/ 3in barrels ...will this grip system fit?** A: Yosef, that is a compact frame and it will NOT fit. The problem is not the barrel length but the shorter grip panels. The grip area/magwell is about a half inch sorter that a standard full sized framed 1911. **Q: will this fit a taurus pt 1911?** A: Yes it does; fits my Taurus PT-1911, however you will have to use a file or preferably a dremel to file down a section (facing towards the gun/unseen) that will come in contact with the lower right side of the ambi-safety lever. There is an indentation there but you'll need to file a deeper groove to free up the lever once you have the attachment securely fastened. If you're careful no one will ever know you had to file it and the side that faces the user is untouched. I'm going to preface my next statement with, "Some people just don't know". Therefore, please do not buy this if you have the Taurus 1911 with the picatinny rails already built onto the frame of the gun. This system will not bolster the picatinny rail that's already on the gun and it will not fit at all. This is made for 1911 platforms that DO NOT have a rail system. Just throwing that out there. **Q: Will this fit my Sig 1911-22?** A: The SIG 1911-22 is built as a full size 1911, so yes. It will fit perfect. **Q: any chance it will fit a 3913 or 3914 s&w** A: No. Both the 3913 and the 3914 are not exactly the same shape as a 1911, full size pistol. The grip is made to fit ONLY a full sized 1911, so it will not work with either of the two S&W guns you referenced. A+ for a cheap solution. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good addition to my 1911 *by A***R on December 23, 2020* I have a standard run of the mill 1911, with no rail system on it. I have wanted to get a light/laser attached to it and came across this. From reading the reviews, it seemed like a no brainer way of adding a rail system and then a light/laser. There was some fitment issue as had been stated in other reviews. The top of the grip system did bind against the slide, which made lining up the screw holes difficult. It also made working the slide almost impossible. In order to fix this, I took a Dremel with a small sanding drum on it and sanded the top of the grip down, took all of 5-6 minutes to do. Once sanded down, the grip fit perfectly and did not interfere with the slide. I also noticed that the bolts on the rail area do stick out a little, but don't currently find this to be an issue.
