Brass Smoking Hawk

This is a nice item, and I'm very pleased with it. Most smoking hawks I've come across have a crappy threaded bowl screwed onto some thick sheet metal or zinc alloy. This bowl is cast as part of the head, which has the steel insert dovetailed. The steel blade insert is not sharpened, nor would I want it to be. (Don't cut firewood with this, it has a hole drilled through the handle which obviously acts as the pipe stem. It is a smoking tool, and a conversation piece, and it does its job at this perfectly.) I throw a lot of hawks for sport, and so puffing on this after provides a fun and entertaining surprise for my guests. Before using it, take a deep breath and blow hard through the stem to blow all the sawdust out, or use an air compressor. It comes full of sawdust, which is perhaps equally harmful as the smoke you're puffing on, but sure lends a different mouthfeel to the experience.
