Bottom line, it worked for the job I needed done. In comparison to a different arm that we own It was a little harder to use (not as smooth, I backed off the knob and parts fell all over the place, and it didn't tighten down and loosed very easily for the fingers.Seems durable and I will use it again.

If anyone plans on buying this product I have one piece of advice. DON'T!!!!!! I never write bad reviews - BUT I must when it comes to this product. To give an example, once I started to bend the arms on the ball joint it started to get loose. The ball joint was very stiff at first and once I moved it 2 or 3 times it got very loose and couldn't hold anything in place much less a light or on camera monitor. After only a minute or so of trying to adjust the arm it totally fell apart. The arm came off the ball joint. I hate even wasting my breath or time writing this review and if I could give it 0 stars I would! DON'T BUY! I promise you will be totally disappointed and it will be a total waste of time for you.

Much better than any other of those cheapo versions. This holds my SmallHD just as good as the SmallHD articulating arm at $70. I have about 4 of the really cheap ones (7 and 11 inch) and they just get thrown out as they always fall down at the worst possible time. This one has held up great. Would buy again. The red detailing is nice, as I can spot it out of the crummy black ones in the pile. Haven't tried unscrewing it all the way but why would you? My kid did that with my really nice Manfrotto one and it won't hold anything now.
