Pioneer 0946997-50 1/4" Brass Shelf Pin (Bag of 50)

These brass pins are easy to install. There is no offset so the positioning of the holes is straight forward. The finish is nice and the price represents a good value.

The pins seem to be good quality and do the job but they are NOT 1/4 as advertised. I read the reviews prior to purchasing. One person said that they were smaller than 1/4 inch and he is correct. I waited until I received the pins before drilling my holes. I test drilled a 1/4 inch hole in a piece of wood and the fit was way too sloppy. I used a micrometer on the pins and measured 7/32. My 7/32 drilled holes worked fine.

I'm sure they work just fine in the right size hole, but size is incorrect. I'm not sure what part of the piece they are measuring as 1/4". They fell right out of the holes. Package is marked 1/4 inch but they are not. They were visibly smaller than existing ones. Went to Ace Hardware and got correct size, marked 1/4". They worked perfectly.

This is a 3/16 shank not 1/4' also is plated not brass. No where does it say you need a 3/16th drill or sleeves to go along with this product.

Hard to find in bulk anywhere. also great quality. If you build your own bookshelves, this is what you need for 1/4" shelf pins.

So some information was left out about this item. These are brass played shelf pins and not solid brass. No where's on the sellers listing,does it state these are brass plated.
