Will it loosen a tightened nut/bolt?    Can a pipe be used over the handle for more leverage?

Accepted Answer

There is a switch that allows you to reverse the direction but this should not be used to "break loose" a previously tightened bolt, only to back off something you're working on.  As for the pipe question, yes, that is fine as long as you are still able to feel the click.  Torque is torque whether you apply 1 pound 250 feet away or 250 pounds one foot away.

Is this thing made in China or is it the better product coming out of Taiwan?

I threw the box it came in away so I couldn't tell you the place of manufacture. The instructions are printed in Taiwan so it is probably made there. Having said that, it does seem a well made good quality product and I wouldn't dismiss all products coming out of China as inferior.
