Been sitting on the shelf for a while.
The book I received looked weathered and discolored. Like it had been sitting around for ever before I bought it.

Chief Joseph Should Be Remembered
This book has stuck with me since I read it in the 1970s, both the prose and the actual volume. When a friend said she was going to hike part of the Lewis and Clark trail later this summer, we discussed the story of the Nez Perce. I bought this book for her to give her important background into the territory where she would be spending time. She found the overview I provided intriguing, so she should love the book.

Another tragic story of "Manifest Destany" I figure.
This tells the whole sad and dirty story of a peaceable tribes failed attempt to escape the U.S. Army's chase of them. Exhaustion of the children and elders plus the Montana winter stopped them just long enough for capture "about 40 miles from the Canadian border and freedom" > from their Own Homelands. A great read =////=====> absolutely tragic from start to end.

I will fight no more forever
This book is one that should be read in history classes. A tribe that lived in peace and in my view far more advanced than most wasichus in this period of time.

Grandson's Paper for English
Bought this for my elder grandson for his high school English paper. It had all the details he needed and he received a "B." We were very pleased.

A must read
Wow! Great book, a must read for anyone even remotely interested in NezPerce or Aboriginal history, old book but hugely relevant, honest and well researched.
