How thick is this model compared to the 0300?

The 0300 is a beast compared to this model. The 0300 is longer, heavier, and thicker. This model is more modest in size - but an excellent product, nonetheless. I have both in my drawer.

Does this knife have a locking system?

This is a linerlock. Meaning that the stainless steel liners that run the length of the handle keep the blade locked open. It is a fairly strong lockup and is a solid knife all around, If you are interested in this knife then I recommend that you buy it.
