Reliable and user-friendly option
The Eldoncard blood typing kit is a reliable and user-friendly option for at-home testing without any specialized knowledge. It’s very affordable compared to other options. The kit I received was well within the expiration date. A particularly useful feature is the adhesive cover that allows you to preserve your results for future reference. Overall, it’s a practical and convenient solution for quick blood type identification.

I'm positive. A positive.
Works exactly as described. I only had to perform one test and I got a very clear A Positive result. Instructions were crystal clear and easy to understand. My guess is that most of the negative reviews were due to a couple of reasons-- 1. You didn't read the instructions. 2. You accidentally contaminated your reagents before you got started. To avoid the latter mistake I would recommend not writing on the card until after you perform your blood typing steps. Be very careful when you handle the card. Do not touch the circles with your hand or anything else, as oils from your skin will contaminate and ruin the reagents on the card. Having a friend or loved one act as your nurse will help a lot too, as you may find it difficult to extract enough blood for all four reagent circles from your finger before clotting occurs. Having a dedicated nurse to handle blood collection while you massage blood flow towards your finger will help with this step. And lastly just make sure you don't allow the blood/water mixture to exceed the lines of the circle when you are tilting the card during your final 'curing' steps. Don't tilt the card straight up and down, but rather at a slight 30* angle. Follow the instructions explicitly and you will do just fine. Interpreting the results was very easy for me. You can see from my picture that the first reagent displayed a typical reaction, the second reagent displayed no reaction, the third reagent displayed a strong reaction, and the fourth reagent (control) displayed no reaction. This result means I'm A (from typical reaction on the first reagent) Positive (from strong reaction on the third reagent).

Some tips for using the kit
Two packs come in a single package which is just as well since I made a bit of a mess with one of them. Here is what I suggest: take a few minutes and read the directions carefully. then, take the first one and lay out all of the parts that you need--take everything out of its packaging and lay it down like a surgeon. The reason is that even though you are only stabbing one finger it is surprising how lacking in agility one is with one finger out of commission. Do choose ahead of time which finger to use--i used my ring finger on my left hand thinking that would be the one I would use the least--which is generally true until one tries to floss that night. Now as for the needle, fellow chickens, it really isn't bad--it goes in quickly and comes right back up. You only feel it, you don't see it. It is a bit more than if you stabbed yourself accidentally with a sewing needle. Nevertheless, I was ready with my Neosporin and bandaids. Here comes the tricky part---I put the needle into the side of the finger pad but honestly could not get enough blood so I really didn't get a good result on the first test. You really do have to have a true drop of blood--nothing less will do. So I moved onto the second test and stupidly put the needle into another place on the same finger--well, then I really didn't have enough blood. So get serious about getting blood in those circles. So did I get any results? Well, yes, but not the way the manufacturer would hope-since the tests are identical--I matched them up--as I had enough blood on three circles on one and enough on two circles on the other. Sure enough, it looked like the picture. Now some of you might have a lot more manual dexterity than I but if you can get someone to help you, I think that would work out well. The entire process takes about 15-20 minutes and you do have to use the test that day so plan on doing it when you won't be disturbed and don't have to rush. Doing it when the kids are coming home as an example, is not a good idea. And you do have to wait for it to dry. Hope this helps.

Excellent science at home
Works like a dream. I knew my blood type from being tested when I was pregnant but wanted to know my husbands and daughters. Tested myself to be sure it worked and sure enough, came up spot on. Tested both my husband and daughter and they worked fine. My 9 year old handled the skin prick part fine (and she HATES needles) and was super intrigued behind the “mad scientist experiment” (her words) that we were doing. She was also happy that she has the same blood type as me. My husband is also happy as he finally knows what his is too. Just take care when doing the test to ensure you don’t put your fingers near the test areas or get blood mixed up in the wrong ones. We did the first time which made one test null. Take time to get everything laid out and read the instructions!

easy
easy and painless

It was very painful, but exciting.
This product hurt so much more than everyone else said. I’m not sure if it’s just the one I bought, but it has already been the next day since I got the blood test, and it still hurts. It felt like as if I had a needle forced into my finger, when the person said it was a just a cotton swab. My brother said his did not hurt, and I’m sure he wasn’t lying since his was not bleeding as much. But overall, I did find out my blood type, and had fun swabbing my blood.
