Great stories
This is a good book about Norse mythology if you are just starting on the topic. It has everything you need to know, from the world set to gods and some famous heroes. It's written in a simple style, so it's easy to read. This a great reminder that moves and myths are two different things.

An Excellent informative Overview of Norse Mythology!!!!
Review Written April 27, 2019Norse Mythology by Stephen WeaverThis is a concise, well written chronicle of the Norse pagan religion, most commonly known as Norse Mythology. The term "Norse" refers to the people who migrated from around northern Germany in the distant past to settle in the region of northern Europe called Scandinavia (modern day Sweden, Denmark, and Norway). It is important to know that while some of these settlers built vessels to sail and fish the abundant coastal water ways and fiords that surround Scandinavia the Norse were primarily farmers, most living on family farmsteads, with a few isolated small town like settlements. The Norse who ventured out of their homelands on longships to raid, trade, discover, and settle were later called Vikings, and this book details the religious beliefs that they held in common.Presented in a strieghtforward, conversational manner, this book reveals the principle beliefs, cosmology, worship, rituals, and the myths underlying the Norse gods, humans, monsters, heroes, and heroines. It provides the background necessary to understand and appreciate the wonderful Norse mythic stories, legends, and sagas. It is interesting to learn that the Norse myths were much more than a collection of stories the ancients created to amuse themselves during long Scandinavian winters. Simply stated their mythology was foundational and intregal to the Norse-Vikings, in all the same ways Christianity is for many Americans today. These myths presented believers with essential elements, guidelines, and presepts of their religion, which were seamlessly integrated into their society. The stories reinforce Norse- Viking beliefs in honor, heroism, hospitality, gift giving, fate, wisdom, the spirit of adventure, and the importance of keeping your word, all of which were key social values and norms. These are the stories that encouraged and fostered the Vikings Age, an age not only of raiding, but also trading, voyages of discovery, and settlement throughout the world. Another benefit of learning about the Norse religious belief system is that it enables a keener understanding and appreciation of the ancient Scandinavian people and culture; more specifically, how the people viewed the world and how they perceived themselves as they fit into that world and as they struggled to understand and obtain some measure of order over the harsh natural world they lived in. I enjoyed this book and recommend it to readers who enjoy history and appreciate a better understanding of Vikings and their mythology.

Cliff's Notes recap of Norse mythology
Raise your hand if your interest in Norse mythology was piqued by the twisted family tree in Thor! Just me? Ok, then. This is a very brief, rather dry introduction to Norse mythology. As I'm not familiar with the source material, I can't speak to the accuracy of the contents. Given the bloody, hedonistic style of both Greek and Roman gods, it seems plausible and par for the course. An example of the writing, which includes some potentially epic D&D character names."Ragnar lived a life of colorful adventures. According to the sagas, Ragnar was married three times and had many children, some of whom were Halfdan Ragnarsson, Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye, BjÓ§rn Ironside, Ubba and Ivar the Boneless."The book was short, with typos, and I probably wouldn't seek out more from this author.

An interesting collection of information that prompts us to think of our own religion
This free 54 page book is an interesting collection of information concerning a culture alien to most of us that prompts us to think of our own religion and behaviors. It tells us about an unusual collection of gods and goddesses and their sometimes despicable practices, the belief in ferocious giants (also mentioned in the Hebrew Bible), the elves, dwarves, heroes, legends, mythological creatures, the nine worlds, and more. Those who acquire this book can get three free books about the Greeks, as I did.

Very basic book
Very basic book, I honestly expected much more. The information provided is correct but really minimal, what you can find online without any effort.

Good: Decent
Very informative brief introduction the Scandinavian/Greenlandic/Icelandic Nordic Pantheon as well as the tribal statistics of man & giant which have been called "God". I would suggest it to most if not all: however I do confess its not for everyone. Can I get a copy written in Futhark?

Unmoved
I was a little let down with the content. It could be because I know a bit about the subject. Would be ok for someone just learning about Norse gods etc.

Sound introduction
A good introduction to the basics of Norse mythology with some interesting facts. This provides a good starting point for anyone wanting to go deeper or enough for those seeking a basic knowledge.

Poor
This book is very small about 40 pages long, paperback and fairly flimsy. Some interesting bits but the details are sparse. Also there are spelling mistakes within the pages as though it has been badly translated. For the price this is a bit of a waste of money. It should be £2.99 and described as an absolute beginners guide to norse mythology - in an enhanced leaflet.

Not over the top for mythology. But a good short book to read. Interesting as how some are related, interlinked.
