I tried going the cheap way of switching video onto the wall thru a projector and could not get the different videos to switch without flickering. I decided to buy the Edirol V8 because it handled two computer inputs and other video inputs. The transitions are great and smooth. The only problem I have is that I do not have as clear a picture on the wall as I had when going directly from the computer to the projector. The smaller writing on slides I show on the wall thru the Ediro V8 is not readible or is blurry. I used a video converter scaler to go from the S-Video output on the Edirol V8 to the vga on the projector. I was told by Roland support this was normal because of the transition from Svideo to vga. I'am still working on that, but otherwise it has worked great. I could not afford to go high def so I have to make this work. I hope to be able to go to the high def end one day, but for now this will do, and is switching without problems so far. The special effects presets aren't nearly as well thought out as the Edirol V-4.
