"Like New" was right
I'm very satisfied with this Mixer and the state it was in when purchased, despite being used. The description of "like new" is very accurate.I had previously used this mixer at a friends' which was the primary reason for buying it, so seeing it at such an affordable price ($300) was a no brainer as you can't get it cheaper even on craigslist. All of the nobs, sliders, and lights worked without issue. The audio quality is very good, although there is a slight buzzing that can be heard when there is nothing playing; I attribute this to standard electrical interference and don't think it was an issue with my model specifically. All of the FX work without issue. BPM is fairly accurate, especially for anything under 175 BPM or non-breakbeat. The in-loop sampler takes some time to get used to, but functions perfectly. (other units of this mixer had issues with having samples sick to banks; not mine)The only functionality that was missing is the "master" headphone channel, which would typically output what is being heard through the OUT on the mixer. This is a non-issue as you can still listen to each channel independently or both at the same time, so not enough to take off a star.

Nice mid level mixer.
A little more used than I anticipated, but everything seems to work just fine.

PIONEER! Any other questions?
On par with Pioneer quality. Don't think I need to say more. Nice little mixer, especially for beginners.I find about 3/7 of the effects mostly useless. Would be nice to have more (useful) effects. I guess that's where the DJM600 and DJM800 come in.Overall, very well designed product.

Cream of the crop!
Come on! Best of the best right here! I just wanted to say anybody thinking about any other brand should not, any concert-night club all pioneer because they built so well!

Great features, minor flaws.
The DJM-400 is a fantastic little mixer. I have had mine for over a year now, and have not had a single problem with it. I appreciate the great onboard effects and the ability to quickly snap/sync the effects to the beat of the music. Onboard phrase sampling is superb in full CD quality. Smooth faders and knobs, adjustable crossfade characteristics, and feather-light crossfader give it a great feel.I don't like the fact that there isn't an XLR input for the mic and there are no XLR outputs for your mains, only RCA.I highly suggest getting the CDJ-400's with this mixer, they were meant to go together.
