Grandchildren going out slamming door and knocking off things on shelf by door. This solved that problem. Easy to adjust closing and latching speed. Revised review after 4 days. Both closers have developed an annoying squeak on reaching latching position.

This door closer works great except for one issue. The arm is not long enough for the door to open completely.so when you pull it open, the door only opens about 95 percent of the way. If you are not careful, you will walk into the door because it isn't open completely.Otherwise, it works very well. It closes the door and keeps it from slamming, it pulls it completely shut as well.It is easy to install, I gave it 4 stars due to the arm being just about an inch short.

This was my first purchase of a door closer and I needed it for the internal door to the garage which kept banging closed. The instructions are terrible to say the least, so google Marie door closer and you will see plenty of videos. Once you see the video it all becomes clear and I installed in 5 mins. You can control the door closing speed & the latch with a screwdriver, but use small turns & test, repeat if necessary.Good product for the price and I would recommend it to anybody who needs to stop a door banging closed.

This a strong little unit that closes a heavy door with little effort.

In my application, the door is recessed from the surrounding moldings. The directions that come with the unit do not give design limits to account for differences between the plane of the door and the moldings. Recommend another diagram in the instructions with this data.

This is my first door closer, so I spent a lot of time looking at the installation videos on what now I think is a fairly simple device. I like this one because it's low profile and white, it fits in well. I like it that it has and overall door closing speed, as well as a latch speed to make sure that it doesn't slam. The instructions were fairly clear, and it included the right kind of screws for installing in a metal door like I have. I'm definitely going to recommend this to my neighbors. Once the door closer is installed, it does take a little bit of getting used to: the door feels "heavier" when in fact that is just the resistance from the mechanism. One mistake I made during installation was aligning the arm at 90° to the door closer as opposed to the adjustable portion of the arm. I had to uninstall the arm several times before I figured it out. Making sure the adjustable part of the arm is 90° to the door is important to make sure that the door closer pushes the door all the way closed to the latch point.

Wanted the model that allows the door to lock in open position. Did not know that they had 2 models. They both look the same. Waited for a new door to arrive. Now the return window has expired. Don’t know why they offer both models

I purchased this item because my kids kept leaving the door to the room with the kitty litter in it open, and being that it was right off the kitchen, this drove me bonkers! (Don't worry about the cat, we put a kitty door in this same door for him ) I did NOT install this myself, so I cannot speak to that. BUT, this little automatic door closer has truly been a saver of my sanity. Me, every day, "CAN WE, AS A FAMILY, PLEASE KEEP THIS DOOR CLOSED, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!" Now I don't have to say a word about it 😁 It looks great in the black finish. It is a tad bit hard to pull on, but I believe that can be adjusted. Overall, i would HIGHLY recommend this product and will probably be getting another one upstairs to keep the dog out of the bedrooms .
