Many people mentioned that it is way shorter than 12ft especially if you have a smaller dog that can't stretch the coils. Well, we have a whippet that is plenty heavy and strong to stretch the coils. He can get it extended to about 9ish feet. So it is true that even with the strongest or largest dogs, you're not going to get the full useful length of 12ft. Other than that the quality seems decent. As hard as our dog pulls, I can't imagine him breaking it. Took away one star for not having a useable 12ft length.

We bought this to go along with a dog run for our Beagle. It works perfectly and gives him just enough freedom to run around without getting too far or tangled up. He stretched it to the max several times over the weekend, and though it's not wound as tight as it was originally, it is still coiled up nicely. May order another, but in a shorter length (like 10'), if it's available.

We had one of these coiled tie-outs for more than 20 years and two dogs before it rusted out. We have a new dog now, and could not find this particular leash anywhere!! The straight ones tend to tangle my dog and rust out within a few months. SO happy I found this blue coiled leash online. As you can see, my dog Friday is VERY happy, too. This is exactly what I was looking for as I wanted something not too long but not too short for my 2 dachshunds to have them hooked up to it on my patio. I wanted something that was coiled so that it wouldn't tangle with each other and this worked out absolutely perfect!

This line is more durable than the non-coiled line I have. And I also like that I can leave it laying around without being a trip hazard, because it springs back in. My little dog is not really used to it though, she needs to pull hard to stretch it out. The line has a lot of tension on it when it's all the way stretched out, the coil is very strong. So for my small 25 pound dog it doesn't reach the full length it's supposed to be.

Our dog has always hated being tied outside. Now she is enjoying the freedom of movement without getting tangled. We have another line that is anchored to a tree and the house. She needed to be secure bc she has started wandering As she’s 14. She is deaf and we didn’t want her to go in the street. This has given her the yard again. She used to bark when we would put her on a tied stake. This coiled line with an overhead line is the perfect solution.

Got this to tie my Rott out when camping. It works great. Super durable and with the winding it doesn't get caught around things as easy.
