Such pretty color!!
This hair color is awesome, hands down. I've got dark blonde/light brown hair, and I've colored it in the past but I've always done more natural colors (reds, and one foray with black) since school and work always had strict dress code requirements for no non-natural hair colors. But life is too short and the world kinda just sucks all around right now, so why not do something fun, you know? So, I got some colors that I like (Genie and Sea Witch, since both were on sale at the time) and set out with a plan: go for one of those peek-a-boo hair styles and dye the under layers a color and leave the top layers natural. Since I've never bleached my hair before, I figured doing this if it messed up then at least I could potentially hide it better than if I did my whole head. First impressions, this stuff smells so nice. It's super thick as well. We used maybe 1/3 of a jar for the underside of my hair, so while the price might be a bit much at first, for me it'll last for a bit, which is nice. After getting the dye on, we pulled my hair into a shower cap and I let it sit for about, I think maybe 2 or 3 hours before rinsing it out with cold water. Was surprised that there didn't seem to be a whole ton of color coming off when rinsing it out, I'm used to seeing a lot of color bleed off when I used to go red, and was fully prepared for my shower to look like I'd murdered a certain purple dinosaur, but there weren't any color stains left behind that I could see. I followed the rinsing with one of those Ion color sealing packets I got from the local Sally Beauty supply, since I read people mention the semi permanent colors tend to fade really quick. Genie is super vibrant on light blonde hair, like I knew it would be bright but seeing it on your own hair is something else entirely. Since it's basically a conditioner with a lot of dye in it, it leaves your hair so nice and silky soft. So far it's been 3 weeks since we did the color, and I wash my hair every other day since it tends to get stupidly greasy and nasty if I try to push it longer, and dry shampoos never seem to work well for me, so I had already resigned to expect the color to maybe stay nice and bright for a couple of weeks before starting to fade. But so far, I don't think it's faded at all yet, it's still so vibrant! I've been using Strawberry Leopard shampoo for the roots of my hair and the L'Oréal dream lengths conditioner for the middle and ends. I never use any heat on my hair, and I always wash it in cold water. Don't know if the color is staying so well because of the methods I use to keep up my hair, or if my hair just likes to soak up and hold color longer or what, but either way I'm loving how it's looking and am already planning out my next idea for adding in the Sea Witch to go along with Genie. 5/5 will definitely buy again.

Fantastic hair dye
This brand has been my go to for over 5 years now. I love that there are no harsh chemicals involved and it actually smells nice. I usually let it sit for about 2 hours and have had zero issues. The colors are always vibrant with my hair and my hair is still very healthy after many years of dyeing it.

SOOOO WORTH IT 🔥🔥🔥🥰🥰🥰
Lime Crime Full Coverage Unicorn Hair Dye, Peri Dust - Damage-Free Semi-Permanent Hair Color Conditions & Moisturizes - Temporary Hair Tint Kit Has A Sugary Citrus Vanilla Scent - Vegan. OMGG 💛 for a semi permanent hair color this one’s simply just AMAZING 🤩 I’ve been purchasing SEVERAL different semi permanent colors for my daughter’s locs she loves the idea of blues and purple in her hair, but the fear of cause damage has always been the issue. When I say several (10 packs) it’s not an exaggeration she has a very thick head of hair which requires a lot of products 😂 I finally decided to not go with the usual cheaper brands I’ve been purchasing bc usually within about 3 weeks her color fades and gives off more teal than blue or purple. 😪 I took the chance to purchase Lime Crime full coverage, and boy so far it seems to be a great solid decision 🔥 the packaging tells you it’s quality, they are packed exactly as described and pictured in jars, that’s a huge plus bc, you’re able to get all the product from the jars instead of the regular plastic tubes these other companies chooses to use. 🔥 Another plus, the colors are VERY vibrant, bright bold and YES absolutely BEAUTIFUL, they stand out almost as if they are highlighted especially when the sun’s reflection hits the hair. 🥰 this brand requires a longer time for the hair to process, it’s recommended to leave the color in for minimum 1 and a half hours, for a better processing time. I left it on my daughter’s hair for about 2.5 hrs and YES, it worked out even better than expected. The moral of the story is long process time means better results, and no damage🔥 It takes time to wash the color out so be prepared LOL, another wonderful thing I noticed is that the color itself doesn’t bleed or run as much into the sheets, pillows, skin, fingers, or into my daughter’s clothes. “YEP” I said fingers 😂 color stays even after she oils and sprays her hair with her fav oils and hair sprays. It has been 3 weeks since we did the last coloring her locs are still vibrant, she’s SUPER HAPPY and I’m SUPER pleased with the purchase. 🥰 definitely rolling with a 4.5 star rating, on quality from the presentation, to the ending results, YASSS get this ideal for the summer time, and most importantly won’t damage your hair. I’d say though, you might require bleaching your hair prior, if you have a darker hair color for even better results. Get it won’t regret it! 🔥🔥🔥

Vibrant and lasts a while
I am truly so impressed by this dye This pic is my hair over 2 months washed out!! It still looks good. When first dyed it’s so beautiful and vibrant. I’m just very very impressed how long it takes to fade and fades beautifully to a color that doesn’t look so bad I don’t need to worry about coloring my hair every week.

Holy Fuchsia, Batman!
This is my first time ever dying my own hair. My "before" picture was taken about a year ago when I had my hair professionally highlighted for the first time, and most accurately depicts my hair color(s) as the sun has helped me maintain my lighter streaks. When looking for a good hair dye, I knew I wanted something only semi-permanent (in case I botched it and needed to scrub it out) and, preferably, a dark burgundy or maroon color, as I LOVE the effect of dark semi-natural looking hair that looks red or purple in the light. I knew getting an especially dark color would be difficult as a natural blonde, but the pictures from my fellow black/brown-haired reviewers inspired me to purchase this color (plus hey, it's called chocolate cherry, sounds like a perfect description of dark brown + red to me!) Unlike most other dyes I looked into, this one did NOT come with the other tools you need, such as gloves, a coloring bowl or, most notably, an applicator brush. My "thrifty" (clueless) self decided just dunking an unused toothbrush in the jar would be good enough. I started following a YouTube balayage tutorial but got carried away and before I knew it, my entire head (and eyebrows, not to mention gloves, ears, and neck) were saturated. Even after covering my whole head, I still have more than half the jar left! The directions say to wait at least 30 minutes and up to 2 hours for the most vibrant and long-lasting results, so I waited one hour prior to taking a cold shower to rinse the dye out. As this was my first time, I didn't think too much while I flipped my hair all around with my head and fingers to get all the dye out. This may have been my biggest mistake, as the pink-ness splashed EVERYWHERE, and I am still finding new areas of my shower tiles to bleach and scrub down several days later. However, the dye truly made my hair feel SO GOOD, like better than after using a high-end conditioner, so getting to run my fingers all through that softness was worth it! As you can see from my photos (face contorted for some false sense of privacy), the results were SO VIVID! I was expecting a color result similar to the "medium blonde" depicted in the product photos, as that is what the majority of my hair color is. Instead it is a brilliant fuchsia color... that exact shade where you call it hot pink but any man will argue it's somehow purple. I am blown away by how well it blended with the varying shades of my highlights and natural hair color, however, creating a deeper burgundy near the roots and a highlighter pink in streaks. Despite the crazy color (my friends have now dubbed me "Skittles"), this variation left it feeling a little more natural-- not just like some bad LazyTown cosplay. I also took an old, mostly empty brown mascara and added perhaps half a teaspoon of the dye and have been applying that to my eyebrows to complete the look... that may be a terrible idea but it works for me so I thought I'd share. Last night I went for a run; I sweat a LOT and had seen reviews of some dyes warning that sweaty workouts may double as a tie-dying sesh for your clothes, but not at all for me with this dye! Afterwards in the shower I shampooed very thoroughly, mostly testing to see just how much might come out in one intensive shower, and noticed moderate fading near the roots but no change at all in vibrancy throughout the rest of my hair. I have since ordered shades of red, blue, and purple from Manic Panic to experiment with adding in a little different color to tone down the level of pink I was not expecting. TL;DR -- Pros: Easy to use despite not coming with tools, made my hair smell and feel great. A little goes a long way and I only needed half a jar. Color is vibrant, resilient, and truly unique. Cons: I'm still scrubbing the hot pink tint out of brushes, bathroom tiles, and my skin/fingernails. The color also leans more red/hot pink, while the photos show it as more purple; it's a brilliant color but lacking any more blue undertones.

Know What You're Buying....But I Did Make it Work Out For Me In the End
Update 12/1/24: I found a very pretty pink/red permanent hair dye and use that on my roots until about my mid lengths and still have my ends (about 9 inches) purple with Genie. Been doing that for a couple months now. I wanted to try blue for the longest time, too, so I just bought a jar of Mystic on Black Friday. I'm hoping because Lime Crime isn't a permanent color, it will come off my ends without bleach and damaging my ends. We'll see how this works out. (Rated 1 star in my original review. Bumping it up to 3 stars now because it is working for me and no longer come off onto all my clothing, etc.) --------------------------------------------------- Original Review: I have been coloring my hair for many years and entered a purple phase about a year ago. I couldn't find a purple that I really liked, let alone a true violet. So, this was the color I was looking for. The problem? It's a stain. Not a semi-permanent color. Not a permanent color. A stain. What does that mean? It doesn't cover your gray/white hairs like you would expect it to for one thing. After about 2 washes, the color comes off the roots and around the forehead to expose the hair beneath. It also doesn't like to stick to the new virgin root growth either. It is more expensive than the other boxed permanent color I have purchased in stores and I honestly didn't want to buy/try it. My hair dresser used it on another client and it was around Prime Day, so I bought a few jars. Only use about half jar at a time. Good for long lasting if I wanted it to last. Now, have to use a different permanent color purple on the roots and then pull Genie through the rest of my hair. It takes my hair dresser 1 hour to do so, and my hair isn't that long. The gel is that thick and doesn't want to spread onto the length. She tried it on wet hair and it seems to go on a little better. I tried to sit for 2 hours the first time and agreed to try 1 hour under heat. Because it took so long to apply, my tailbone was killing me and I had to give up after 45 minutes. We always use a color lock afterward, but Genie still came off - on my shirt, on my pillowcase, on my sweater and of course, stained my shower floor. We use the lock for about 5 minutes now instead of the recommended 2 and it works a lot better. Stained all of my shirts for that first month as well. As always, try at your own risk, but know what you are getting into. Product really doesn't tell you what it is and your results are dependent upon that information. Not a happy camper and can't wait to move on to my next solid permanent shade. Good luck.

New favorite brand
NEW FAVORITE BRAND! I love changing my hair color “almost as often as you change clothes” as my grandma likes to say. In general I change fantasy colors every 3-4 weeks max and the constant color removing and needing to rebleach certain spots can absolutely fry my hair… this brand lifted out so easily! Not from standard washing your hair but when it’s time to change colors it is no problem. I purchased 3 colors so far, I used the sour candy pink first and I think it would have looked stunning had I been willing to bleach my hair one more time to get it to a level 9-10 but I didn’t, I ordered bubblegum pink to apply over it and loved it it was way more vibrant and bright on my not perfectly bleached hair (probably a level 7-8) and did the other half of my head with the pony purple and it was stunning as well. I do think sour candy didn’t work well for me due to my own incompetence so no hate on them, my friend who had lighter hair used what I had left and it worked perfectly for her. I removed half of the dye at a time for two reasons 1)I had a split dye so each half of my head we’re completely different colors so I assumed they would need different amounts of time. 2) the color was lifting so quickly that I couldn’t get my whole head done evenly. I did half of it with a box of color oops and was shocked at how fast it lifted out and how evenly as well. The pony purple was still extremely vibrant when doing this (washed maybe 4-5 times leading up to color removal) and it took one round of color oops and even removed all of it before the time listed on the box, I left it on to the listed time anyways to make sure it was all out and on the bubblegum pink I ran out of color oops so o decided to remove it with a round of bleach. I used 20vol bleach mixed as instructed by the bleach brand and it only had to be left on for 15ish minutes for it to fully remove the pink. The colors held up well with my normal hair wash routine with color safe products, pretty comparable to other brands I’ve used, nothing phenomenal with it vibrancy life in my opinion but that works fine for me because I like to switch up colors so often. It lifted out so flawlessly with one round of remover that I’m currently, confidently rocking blonde because of how well it all came out. It smelled great and didn’t damage my hair. All in all to summarize… if you change colors often this brand is game changing for hair health but if you stick to pink all the time for example than it might not stay vibrant as long as you might like but isn’t too quick to come out with standard washing.

Excellent colour
This colour is absolutely amazing! Easy to apply, smells lovely, left my hair very soft and it's vegan. It's very bright and my hair was pre lightened. It has faded after 8/washes which is excellent in my opinion, but the faded colour is shown on the other picture. I still love the colour even though it's faded. Excellent value for money as well. My hair is thick, naturally curly, shoulder length and I only used ¾ of the pot. It does say to apply to clean dry hair but my hairdresser applied it on wet, unconditioned hair.
