Worth every penny for the amount of time and frustration it saves
I absolutely LOVE this tool every time I use it. If you work on any car you know you are one broken bolt away from a 1 hour job turning into a 3 day job. If you have old and rusted nuts/bolts on a car and need to remove this tool makes it extremely easy and reduces the chances for breaking a bolt/nut. I can get a nut glowing red in 1-2 min, depending on the size and the nut breaks off easily. The tool had over temp protection and cuts off after 2 minutes of continuous use. It also has over current protection, if the coil shorts to the car chassis it will also cut off. You may think this is expensive. This is manufactured in the USA and used high quality parts. Some of the knock off brands from China not have the over temp/over current protection like this model. The coils are considered consumables and wear out after while.

A Necessity for Working on Rusty Cars
At around $650, this thing is probably the most expensive tool I've ever bought. But for working on rusty cars, hands down it's also the best tool I've ever bought. I don't even use my impact anymore, simply heat bolt/nut for ~15 seconds, try to break it free with my 3/8 drive ratchet, and if it won't come loose with a moderate amount of torque (usually does on first try) I heat it some more. With this method, no more snapped bolts! And living in Michigan I work on some rusty cars and have removed bolts that had no business coming out without snapping. Ideally you want to get the nut/thread side of the fastener, but even if you can only reach the head of the bolt, getting heat into it that way works (just takes longer, up to a minute of heating). Really the only limitations of this are if the fastener goes through plastic or a rubber bushing, you're going to be limited on how much you can heat the bolt without melting the surroundings (still much better than an open flame though). I've had my tool for about 2 years now and cannot recommend this enough if you deal with rusty fasteners often.

Works
Works great for contact heat, like a seized nut, but if you're trying to heat a bolt seized to the metal sleeve in a bushing, the heat doesn't transfer the length of a bolt, just the area the attachment surround. Good tool though.

Works well on bolts
Used it to take off stuck nuts on exhaust manifolds for a 1967 Power Wagon. I would deduct 1/2 star if possible. My only negative comment would be that it wants go into protect (overheat) mode too quickly if you cant get the entire bolt/nut head in the coil. Worked REALLY well on the exhaust flange nut that always twists off the manifold stud. HIGHLY recommended for that kind of exhaust work and for smaller nuts. Doesn't have nearly enough power to take larger things off of shafts and bar. Works well for some things, doesn't replace the torch for others. I bought the kit with all of the other induction tips. You are going to want that as you will burn through the one that it comes with pretty quickly if using it for more than a single bolt.

Very high quality. Please don’t cheap out for these tools. I know they’re all gonna get the job done but the feeling when you know you have a top notch quality equipment in your hand makes it worth it.

Works great!
The unit is great, saved the day while doing struts on an 02 explorer. I no longer own that old truck and unfortunately this tool collects dust now..

Does what it says, but should include more tips for the money.
It’s big and bulky. The cord isn’t very flexible which makes it a pain in cluttered spaces. Could have built an infra-red non-contact thermometer into it to monitor the coil and work temperature.
