I've had this Klein digital thermometer for 2 1/2 years and have been very satisfied with it. Now I wouldn't use it expecting it to be exact to the degree. While I believe it is pretty accurate, it's not intended for that level if precision. It is very good for telling temperature differences from one point to another. And I use it regularly for my fire pit and cooking over the fire or charcoal grill. For that it is excellent!

Really dumb design on the battery cover. A small phillips head screw has to be unscrewed, (why not a thumbscrew?), the screw is not captive, and is small, and would be very easy to lose. While removing a battery and putting another one in, I managed to make the battery door come off completely, and it was a bit of a fiddle to reconnect it. I always take the batteries out of things like this which I don't use on a daily basis, because I have had so many tools ruined by leaky batteries. Admittedly 9v batteries don't leak as often as AA's etc. In this case I installed a rechargeable battery instead. Functionally the tool seems fine, which I would expect for the price and brand association, hence only one star deducted for stupid design.
