A beautiful book ... terrible packaging by amazon
Certainly a book on a specialized area of American book design. A knowledgeable treatise on the binding designs of Alice Morse (1863-1961). Profusely illustrated with over 100 bindings in color. Finely presented by the Grolier Club of New York. I have collected turn-of-the-century American trade bindings for some 30 years, and this is a fine addition to a sadly scant number of books on the subject. My copy (not hard bound but bound in heavy paper wrappers) was jammed into a too small box, has a damaged (wrinkled) corner, and although I E-mailed Amazon about the problem weeks ago I have yet to receive an answer. The book is great, Amazon's packing dept. and customer service dept. are abysmal!Richard Cady
