ATS301 Automatic Power Transfer Switch

I chose this transfer switch over some other less expensive brands. It uses a nice heavy duty metal case that I felt was important in case of any type of electrical short. The cover slides off easily and the interior is large enough for providing plenty of space to connect the cable wires. All connection lugs are well labeled and the lugs screw down onto the wires to make a tight connection. I tinted the wire ends with solder to prevent any wire strands from being squeezed from outside of the lug screw. Also used green permatex (rated for electrical connections) to keep the lug screws from loosening up over time. The only short coming is that no ring type strain relief connectors are provided for securing the cables to the box. But they are inexpensive.

Its working great. Took about an hour to install. All parts were well packaged and included.
