Florida Orthopedics Soft Form Posture Control Brace - #16-900400 - Size Small

I used to have great posture growing up. My mother was very diligent with her daughters having proper posture, manners, etiquette, etc. I was also a serious athlete until I was injured in college so I know my muscles, (especially in my back, my core) were strong and helped ensure that I maintain such posture. After my injury that ended my sports lifestyle, along with a busy worklife including the dreaded waitressing which takes its toll on the back tremendously, I realized that my muscles were not quite as strong and the back pain caused my posture to suffer horribly. In an attempt to help gain some of my strength back in those muscles and ultimately relieve the chronic pain and poor posture, I looked for a product like this to aid in my efforts. I can't totally knock this product for being ineffective because I may have purchased an incorrect size or be using it incorrectly. I believe, based on the measurements taken prior to choosing the size, that I purchased the correct size however when wearing this, as directed, it digs in to areas of my torso that make it almost unbearable to wear for the allotted time. I know body types vary between people so I will not say this product is faulty, and I know this is not meant to be worn for extended periods of time so I will not say the discomfort is unexpected. It receives 3 stars because I did find some pressure relief on my back while wearing it and sat/stood a little straighter while wearing it. It's long-term effects have yet to prove worth the temporary discomfort and, although I do not find this product all that wonderful for my intentions, I cannot say the product is faulty or worthless and that one should not give it a try if they seek to improve posture or relief some back pressure.Overall, a mixed review, not great, but by no means worthless.

While this brace holds promise for straightening you out over time, it is uncomfortable and poorly designed. The waste band is extremely tight while the shoulder straps are too loose. Perhaps it fits certain body types and not others but it definitely doesn't fit me. After about 10-20 minutes the arm straps start to cafe. If you have the will power to suffer through wearing it for hours each day, it may really help your posture. But I expect that most people, after wearing this brace 2 or 3 times, will throw it aside and forget about it due to the discomfort it causes.

if you are adult, take M size instead S size because the small size are just for middle school girls

My mother and I tried numerous braces. We both suffer(ed) from severe osteoporosis. I sit at my computer or my craft table all day and my posture was getting worse and worse and on top of that I'm shrinking! It seems as if, because of the slouch or because of the shrinkage I had too much flesh between my bust and my waist and it would actually hurt by the end of the day. I'm not a big woman, matter of fact, I am 5'5" and only weigh 117 lbs, but still it felt as if there was just too much flesh, for lack of a better way of explaining it.This brace doesn't hold me up straight, it doesn't do the work for me, but it definitely is a reminder that makes me sit up straighter, again, it's more of a gentle reminder and therefore, it works for me. The first one I ordered was a medium and I had to pull the waist straps so far over there was almost a 4 inch flap so I'm ordering another one in the small size. So, I like it well enough to go ahead and order another. I'm not willing to try any other brace because this one works well for me. I'm not sure if it would work for others with different body sizes though. It should but I just couldn't say.The shoulder straps on this medium are slightly too long so I pin them up. I'm hoping the small size will fit better. Either way, I like this brace. Again, it's not going to do the sitting up straight for you, but it is an excellent reminder to sit up straight. I do wear it over a thin top because I'm sure it would chafe if I didn't. Also, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to MAKE myself wear it in the summer, but I'll wear it in the house over a tee shirt and not worry if a neighbor comes over :).

I may have given this a higher rating but when I received the item on the box is a label that states there is a no return or exchange policy. I measured correctly but when I received the item I need a bigger size. No where on the Amazon site does this item state'no returns or exchanges'. I purchase from Amazon a lot & have never experienced a problem like this before. The company says they don't exchange or refund for 'health' reasons. Come on...even Victoria's Secret will exchange any item. I'm disappointed Amazon doesn't have better control of the vendors on their site. I guess it's buyer beware. I'll be hesitant to purchase on Amazon for some time.

My review will only echo what many others have written. Order one to two sizes larger. This runs very small and it quite uncomfortable. I never wear it. I would give it away, but I don't know anyone smaller than me.

It fits loose on my back, I did not feel any pressure to keep me right.

I ordered this product to assist me with my posture due to my osteoporosis. I get a lot of back pain in my spine between my shoulder blades due to my stooped posture. Immediately, when I put on the brace, I felt relief from the pain and pressure in my spine. I have also noticed, that it also forces me to twist at my hips and not my upper back. This will help me prevent further fractures. I plan on wearing it while doing my bone building exercises of my spine. I hope it will help me keep my spine in correct alignment to strengthen the muscles of my back.The material is soft and does not rub. The brace itself is really comfortable for me to wear. I have worn other braces that have rubbed my arm pits and really hurt. This one does not. I highly recommend it if you have a mild stooped posture from osteoporosis and suffer from the pain and pressure.......
