COL CONK AMBER SHAVE SOAP

Foams up real nice has a great smell and gives you smooth shave, I just wish the quantity was a little more.

As you can tell, this is a mixed review. The Colonel's soap whips up a very good lather, and provides a great shave. It is thick lather. I did a bowl lather with a Bicrops bowl and a Yaqi brush, both from Amazon. Great slickness. I think you can melt this into a container, but repurposed one and it fit just fine without needing to use the microwave. I've been wanting to try a Bay Rum shave soap. I still want to. I can barely smell this! It might as well be listed as unscented. I put the puck up to my nose, then after lathering I put the shave brush full of lather up to my nose, and could barely smell anything. By the way, if you want shave soap with a strong scent, try Catie's Bubbles, available from Amazon. Just open the lid and the room fills with the scent. So COL Conk gets top marks for performance, and very low marks for scent. It's a good buy, compared to many, and it will remain in my rotation, but I won't be getting another puck when this one is used up.

I ordered the Amber but received the Woodsy scent. Overall this is a very good shaving soap. It lathers well with a brush and there is plenty of glycerin to protect your skin. I use this in a shaving mug with a vintage double edge razor. The boys and girls making this outside of Albuquerque have a great thing.
