Slight modification for tight radius
Runs super smooth for the price, and the LED lighting is really pleasant offwhite color and realistic. No issues starting or unexpected stops. Others have said it canโt pull many cars, but Iโm running it with 35 weighed, dialed-in, and lubricated roundhouse metal-wheel hoppers with no issues. My layout has a difficult switch immediately followed by an 18โ radius curve. This throws a lot of prototypical engines off so I wasnโt surprised. This engine has a wonderfully prototypical coupler size. However I needed to install a 20mm length coupler that is longer than the short ones it comes with. This allows for a few more millimeters of movement so that the first car in the consist wasnโt thrown off the track in the troublesome section. Itโs a straightforward change, but itโs the first time the change was needed on a 4 axel EMD. So just something to note, youโre better off with 22โ curve minimums if you arenโt interested in the mod. Iโm going to run it as stock for some time and then weather it. The real life 693 is easily found online for reference photos. Lovely hobby grade at a great price!

Very good for the price.
Nice , quiet, smooth, My tracks and cars are over 30 years old, But my Loco's are NEW ready to run after pulling out my tracks after 10 years storage. So the new couplers didn't work, so I modified the 1st car coupler system.

Check your couplers!!!!
Awesome engine, super smooth and powerful. However the couplers are a show stopper. Theyre the new magnetic knuckle style. All of my HO stuff is the old S hook style. Tried swapping the couplers but the new mount is higher so nothing reaches even with them swapped. Also even if you manage to get the S style (which are mounted to the trucks) connected to the knuckle manually it drags the car off the track.

Los barandales se ve que se rompen o doblan con solo verlos, la parte donde van las puedas se ve chafisima, lastima pir que el cuerpo del tren no se ve mal, es pesado, pero seguramente por un contra peso dentro no por un motor pesado. Trae accesorios para ponerle las barredoras, un consejo, no te molestes se pueden romper por cambiarlas. No es la peor, pero esta entre juguete y modelismo. No pasa por buena, pero tampoco por juguete
