Clever but are they good
Preface – as is becoming too common, this page throws a lot of product varieties, 8 different variations, on to one page so often you have no idea what other people’s reviews are talking about. To be clear then, mine is for the Tall Dark and Handsome in the 40 count size.I may be one of the least loyal to any coffee brand anywhere. That’s one of the major reasons I got a Keurig, so I could have whatever kind of coffee I felt like, whenever I felt like it to the point if I’m drinking several cups in a row they may all be completely different brands. When I see a flavor of coffee for my brewer I’m almost sure to try it and it’s amazing how much difference there can be.I didn’t know any history of this brand, in fact most of the Keurig compatible brands have almost no history at all. But the company behind this brand has been around since 1935 and is employee owned and based in the Midwest. Their claim to fame is being the behind the scenes supplier to restaurants, coffee houses and café until they ventured out into the retail market with Joe Knows Coffee. Well, if Joe doesn’t know coffee I don’t know who does. Joe Knows Coffee is sold in a mainstream medium roast that appeals to just about everyone who drinks coffee and a more robust blend called Tall Dark and Handsome, which is the one I bought. And come on, who doesn’t want to wake up to something tall dark and handsome? The stuff to know about this is that it is 100% Arabica Coffee, compatible with both the older and newer Keurig brewers and that the pods are the open mesh style rather than the sealed plastic ones. There are pros and cons to that kind of mesh pod. On the plus side the water flows faster I think and of course they are much more environmentally friendly. But on the other hand since they are not sealed (and filled with nitrogen) they have a shorter shelf life after you open the box and you can’t, or at least shouldn’t, store them in any kind of open air rack, they are best stored tightly sealed in a foil bag. Most brands of mesh pods use one foil bag for the entire supply. Kudos to Joes for making the extra effort to individually seal each pod individually it its own foil pouch. Other than that I don’t have any strong feelings either way about the pros and cons of the two styles of pods.At about 65 cents per pod they are at the upper end of my budget which tries to stay at no more than 50 cents per pod, and preferably down around 30 cents. Careful about that though, if you click the wrong link you could pay a lot more.Overall the comes down to taste whether it is worth it or not, and compared to some of the Keurig pods that can be weak and watery these do taste a lot more like a cup of freshly brewed coffee, and therefore I like them.

Had an issue with 2-3 pods, but Paramount's Customer Service stepped up boldly! :)
This is my Daily Driver. I found this coffee at TJ Maxx years ago and I have never looked back (or found a better cup of coffee in a pod). I purchase mine now on Amazon with Prime, in the 40-pod box (generally around $26/box, which is 65 cents a cup). The last box I purchased, the first 2 or 3 pods would stop brewing early in the brewing cycle, and an error message would appear on the screen (I apologize, I should have paid better attention to the error message - all I remember was something about "pressure"). I lifted the lid, pushed it back down into place, held it firmly but gently, and re-started the brewing cycle. (NOTE: this means it was not a "true," 8 oz formula cup, as I was used to.)So I contacted Paramount Roasters via their website and explained the issue, and gave them all the pertinent info from the box..They were very quick to reply, and took the matter seriously. They didn't have a specific answer to my problem (and I haven't had anymore problems with the pods from that box), but let me just say they took care of me as a customer (they were VERY generous), and - even had they not made the situation right, I would stand by the brand and the blend. I definitely am convinced they take their customers - and their customer service - very seriously, and they genuinely reached out to ensure my faith in their product wasn't shaken. And it isn't. At all.So buy this coffee with confidence - it's an amazing cup. :)

Great product, great customer service, outstanding business relations
I was introduced to Joe's coffee by a friend and since my first cup, I have been a huge fan of the coffee. I have recommended Joe to quite a few people who I know enjoy a strong cup of coffee. And the Kcups are not plastic which made me love it even more. Overall, a great product but that is not the only reason that prompted me to write this review. I recently had an issue with one of our orders of Joe (we usually order 2 boxes of the 40 count Kcups) every 30-60 days. When they were contacted about this, they promptly addressed this issue by refunding the order, sending a replacement order along with a travel mug and a handwritten note from their customer relations manager. Most companies would stop at a refund but the fact that the company went the extra mile to make sure their customer was satisfied was impressive . The little gesture of a handwritten note (than a boiler plate regret letter) made it meaningful and speaks volumes about their business model. 5 stars for the product and the company!

I absolutely love Joe Tall Dark and Handsome!
I like a dark roast with strong flavor and not real acidic. This is a rich, mellow, delicious brew. I also like Laughing Man dark roast and Peet's Major Dickinson blend, but of the three, Joe TD&H is my preference. As a packaging note, I prefer these completely compostable pods that Joe markets. They work in my Keurig with no problems, and I've used them daily and trouble free for months. Joe also markets the same coffee in plastic pods, which are easy to recycle, too. The coffee and paper filter tear out cleanly, so I can compost that part, then rinse and recycle the plastic pod, but the completely compostable pods are the easiest. The price is excellent and shippingwas speedy.

Compostable pods
I've always liked Tall Dark and Handsome Joe, and was really happy to find they're now available in compostable pods for a Keurig - I won't buy Keurig pods, or any that are still plastic. However, I was really disappointed to find they're wrapped in individual plastic wrappers! Rather defeats the purpose! San Francisco Bay coffee wraps their compostable pods in compostable bags too (not individually, in groups of 10 per bag I think it is), and I hope Joe will find a way to do that too!Even if you're not in an area equipped to deal with compostable waste, they are still bound to deteriorate faster than plastic in a landfill.
