Simple and works great.
I really wasn’t expecting a lot from this item but I’ve tried a couple different ways to get a decent cup of coffee while away from home or camping. I guess I’m just clumsy, some of the camp coffee cans I’ve tried I always end up with grounds in the cup. Plus I’m the only one that drinks coffee regularly so I just need a cup or two. This thing has worked out perfectly for my needs. I just made my first cup and it was perfect, got the strength I needed (I like my coffee to look like tar and put hair on my chest) , and super simple. It’s a French press without the stem and the glass container, and being able to drink out of the same cup you press just brings it all together. Even at the bottom of the cup I get the aroma of the grounds coming up through the cup. I went ahead and made a second cup with the same grounds and it was a little weaker but still pretty good.Clean up was simply. Even though it’s a press the grounds aren’t clumped up solid. A couple taps and it popped out of the cup and a quick rinse and it was good to go for the next round. Can’t wait to use this for the next camping trip.So as my wife is looking at me like I’m insane (we have a perfectly good Keurig in the house and I’m still planning on pressing a cup in the morning for my commute), I’m thinking you should get this cup. I did, and it’s been everything I wanted.

Love this!
I loved mine so much I bought another and I’m thinking about buying one more. I don’t drink coffee but I’m a HUGE fan of Crio Bru. Cacao and stainless steal don’t play nice so the materials in this mug are great as they don’t leach into to cacao. My flavors stay as they are supposed to be.This is easy to clean. All dishwasher safe. I even run the sleeves through sometimes. This is the best work mug and travel mug. One of my favorite things.

I love my little travel French Press.
I love my little travel French Press. I used mine camping and because I had brought this French press I decided I would bring some loose leaf tea. It work as expected with regards filtering out the leaves from the tea I was drinking with one drawback. And its not a deal breaker for me, But, I think because the leaves are much finer than course ground coffee it leaked into the outside of the filter brew. The inside of the filtered brew has a flip top lid the kept everything secure, but the portion that pushed by the seal of the French press can leak out if tipped over. Not bad when your camping outside. I have as of yet not tried it with French press ground coffee beans to see if it might have the same issue. I still love mine, insulated my hand from the hot water with the wrap on the bottle and provided a measure of insulation for the hot drink with it being double layered. Not as good as a stainless insulated cup, but it made a difference. I'd buy it again.

LOVE IT SO MUCH - do your research on pressure and steam for more consistent results
It gets 5 stars from us because we love it! We take it everywhere with us and always get impressed looks and questions from people, even living in Seattle. We use it more than our espresso machine or our aeropress, because it's so on the go, just pre-load in the grounds and with some hot water you can press it any time anywhere, at work or in a meeting, it's no less impolite than stirring in sugar. The mug is just 3 pieces to remember, plus the cozy and the rubber bottom, which are removable. We never use them because 1) it makes the cup thinner, less pieces to carry and 2) we like to watch the coffee being pressed! Normal coffee press devices are meant to be used with a little bit coarser ground than espresso. But we've had great coffee with minimal sludge with both fine espresso ground and courser brew grounds. It also (depending on the beans) can get GREAT thick crema. I've read mixed reviews about its mechanics, let me try to share what we experience. To make the brew, fill the big piece with your grounds, up to the height of the inner press piece, which doesn't go all the way down. Fill with hot water, stir and steep for 2 minutes, should develop some crema on top. Here's where we've been a little confused. When you put the inner press down, we've had inconsistent results. Sometimes, with or without the lid, it will slide straight down with no give (minimal pressure, minimal crema). Sometimes, with or without the lid, it will be IMPOSSIBLE to press, taking a LOT of force and several minutes to push down (great crema though). Sometimes, upon pressing, it will explode and spurt out the sides. Basically, when you are pressing, make sure you are pressing straight down and be meticulous about not letting any of the inner water get past the rubber seal, or it will fill up the gap between the cups, possibly coming out the top, or making it hard to sip without groundswater seeping out. You don't want that in your sip. So, we've yet to officially figure out why the inconsistent results. Maybe it has to do with the lid, or the steam, or letting it sit with the steam and the lid. Wish it came with a physics pamphlet. I'm not taking a star off for that because I think it's a user error and it's always risky using any device that works under pressure. Overall, if you value hybrid brewers like presses over plain brewed coffee, if pressing your coffee is a value to you and you always keep fresh grounds on hand, this is a very useful and novel cup for you!

Perfect!
A better cup of coffee in the woods. No more cowboy coffee or those horrible packets. Compact and lightweight enough for backpacking. Thought about ditching the rubber base to save a few ounces but I think it provides some necessary stability when you set it on the ground. It appears to be very durable, and coffee doesn't turn bitter even after sitting for awhile. Simple to use. Test out at home to see how much course coffee grounds suits your taste. I was good with 2T/15.oz. Highly recommend.

Awesome concept for on the go ..
I love what this mug is able to do .. I can start with French pressed coffee in the morning and by the end of the afternoon I'm drinking tea in the mug .. A great little travel buddy .. I would definitely recommend this to people that want that French Press taste on the move .. And for tea .. Throw in some fresh herbs and hot water and in minutes you have fresh tea ..

This product is brilliant. I use it everyday at work
This product is brilliant. I use it everyday at work, on the weekends at home and when away on holiday. It allows me to have a good cup of coffee as well as being a handy coffee holder. As others have stated, it does allow coffee out if it falls over which can be problematic when in the car. However, the cup needs to do this to allow air to escape when being pressed. I have also experienced the press getting stuck, if this is forced it can break the seal and allow coffee grounds into the drinking part. I have found that sometimes it requires the press to be moved up a little before pressing down again, this takes a bit of practice but is fine once you get the hang of it.Overall, it is excellent and well worth the price.
