Limited edition comes with 12" x 12" print signed by the band. Celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album 'Olympian', Demon Records presents an 8LP Deluxe Edition vinyl box set of the much loved and respected Gene. Featuring all four studio albums; ‘Olympian’ (1995), ‘Drawn To The Deep End’ (1997), ‘Revelations’ (1999), ‘Libertine’ (2002) and the 1996 compilation ‘To See The Lights’. Each album is presented with original artwork and printed inner sleeves. Pressed on 180g heavyweight coloured vinyl: Olympian (180g White Vinyl), Drawn to the Deep End (180g Maroon Vinyl), Revelations (180g Green Vinyl), Libertine (180g Pink Vinyl), To See The Lights (180g Gold Vinyl). Includes a booklet with written notes by each member and a piece by journalist Keith Cameron, who signed the band to his Costermonger label in 1994. Inspired by the songs of The Smiths, The Jam and The Faces, Martin Rossiter’s literate vocals and Steve Mason’s fluid guitar lines were perfectly complemented by the intuitive rhythm section of Kevin Miles and Matt James. They released four studio albums and a collection of B-sides and radio demos between 1995 and 2001, were named Best New Act at the inaugural NME awards in 1995, and went on to score 10 Top 40 hits. All five of these albums are sought after and have not been made available for some time.

Haunted by GENE: As Good As It Gets with this deluxe vinyl box of wonders
Fans of GENE need no introduction to their albums. People not familiar with GENE should stream their songs before deciding on whether or not this deluxe vinyl boxset is for them. For the fans: all four studio albums are here on beautiful coloured vinyl:Olympian (1LP white), Drawn To The Deep End (2LP maroon), Revelations (1LP Green), Libertine (2LP pink). The b-side/live rarities album To See The Lights is also included (2LP khaki green). 8 vinyl in total across 5 albums. Refer to my photos to see the records. The sound quality of the vinyl pressing is excellent, as you would expect. Each album comes with an insert and lyrics. A signed sheet by the band is also included. Sadly there are no download codes, but we all knew that anyway.Overall this sturdy boxset of wonders is a must-have for GENE vinyl lovers. Their albums are notoriously hard to find on vinyl and secondhand copies cost a fortune. I don't know if the albums will be rereleased individually at a later date. Possibly not. If the price is scary then I recommend the excellent GENE double album Yours For The Taking, released recently on lovely sky blue vinyl.

Essential
Really well made and presented set, a must have for Gene lovers. Demon as always have done a great job. Only slight complaint is that Vinyl box has no access to 3CD's of b sides and extra tracks include in the CD set.
