Cal and Lucy are back together working out of New Mexico when a relay station is attacked, both attendants murdered, the Wells Fargo safe stolen, and the building burned; all supposedly by Apache Indians as seen by the incoming stage. The hunt is on, by the posse, Cal Hughes and Lucy Blake. The biggest issue, all the horses ridden away were all shod and saddled. Too many things failed to add up to both Lucy and Cal. This book brings back memories of watching Saturday morning westerns back in the 50s. I especially like the Pinkerton eye patch lady character. If you can't include the Lone Ranger, make it a pirate lady instead. All in good fun. No raunchy sex scenes or tacky language. Shucks! My kind of entertainment.

I enjoyed the easy flowing plot and the descriptions of the characters and the world of Wells Fargo man.A very enjoyable way to spend a few hours !

Really liking this series. Works better if you read them in order. Good guys and bad guys with a couple of characters on the borderline for you to figure out.

Another old time western tale from Robert Peecher. Looking forward to volume 3!

Another excellent adventure from Robert Peecher featuring Parlous Calvin Hughes of Wells Fargo and Lucy Blake of the Pinkerton Agency taking on those robbed the Santa Rita payroll. Excellent story. Looking forward to the next adventure.

Second book in series,I enjoyed the first book and this one as well.The books move well and the writing is good and the stories are believable.

Enjoyed the book. Second I've read in this series. ILike the characters and the story line. Recommend it for a easy read.
