Austin Rover: Maestro and Montego
A**)
Interesting book on these under-rated cars
At last a book on the Maestro and Montego!. Written by an obvious fan of these cars it covers many aspects in depth. Much attention is given to the marketing and model changes over the years and the cars post BL life in china and other areas of the world is worth checking out. Its perhaps a bit light on the development side of things seeing as this spanned many years but i guess this to appeal to everyone, not just BL anoraks and geeks. Much use of old brochures is made as well as contemporary photos which is a nice balance and makes me nostalgic for when these cars were easy to find/buy. Don't be put off by the cover shot - the book is far better than this slightly dubious photo would suggest - there is much better inside. Its in depth enough than even BL experts will learn a thing or two as well as being entertained. Crucially it doesn't go BL bashing, and even missing the fact that AA patrols back in 1986 called the motorway hard shoulder "Montego bay" such was the unreliability. That is maybe because Sam knows this might just be an urban myth? Great book - get it bought!!

A must have for any Maestro owner or lover.
A well documented and written account of the history and life of Austin Rover's Maestro. Covering all examples including the little known Chinese productions models. If you've ever owned one, still own one or just love the car and time lines then this is a good book.

Thorough research, excellent presentation 👌
Many model specific books are disappointing, but not this one. Accurate, engaging and complete. A*
