Dyed Brunette? Brunette w/Balayage? MUST HAVE THIS!
This stuff is a godsend! I WAS a natural brunette, but now due to grays, I stain my hair brunette with a close-to-natural color and have had partial balayage hilights both as a natural & dyed brunette. I didn’t discover this shampoo until recently after dying my hair all over, but regardless of my natural or dyed brunette base color OR sun exposure, my balayage has had the same tone of brassy color after awhile. This stuff was excellent in toning down the brassy/coppery color of my balayage that I despise without darkening or lightening any color. I wish I had found this stuff sooner, but glad I have it now since I have more frequent touch-ups! I would have definitely wanted this product for my balayage when I was a natural brunette (I never had a dislike for my medium-dark brunette base color or thought it got brassy), but now that I dye my base color, I definitely realized how quickly the base color can become brassy and this shampoo neutralizes that very, very well...huge plus...and it’s also a necessity from toning down any balayage brassiness and preventing it. Also, I saw a lot of people say that it’s very dehydrating, but I only found it to be very minimally less moisturizing than my favorite shampoo & conditioner with a lot naturally curly hair that’s much more coarse than most Caucasian hair and is always in need of more hydration! So, I’ve found that using this once a week (I apply it to dry hair for a few min b4 washing - seems to really tone the hilights better that way) and following with a super moisturizing mask afterward has kept my hair healthy and without any difference in my hair’s usual texture. And trust me, I’d notice in two seconds if my already dry, frizzy, coarse curls became any more dried out! And that hasn’t happened to me while using this product. I’d say this is a definite MUST HAVE for any dyed brunette or natural/dyed brunette with balayage. I benefit tremendously from the toning & longer time between touch ups with this; I’ll never go without!

It works!!
My hair was turning brassy a month after I had a balayage and now it looks the same color as it was after doing it. Using this 3 times a week as directed on the instructions. So glad I got it. Beats the $40 every 4 weeks for toner at my stylist’s!

Impressed!
I was very hesitant of buying this product because I didn’t believe a shampoo or conditioner could actually pull the brass for your hair but my hair dresser talked me into it.To come to my surprise it does the trick beautifully! I’ve only used it twice and can noticeable see the difference! It pulled a lot of the brass out in just two uses! It’s not the most moisturizing or frizz control so I’d get another shampoo/conditioner between uses.UPDATE: I really do love this shampoo after every use I can see it slowly pulling out all the brass! I’ve been using the shampoo once sometimes twice a week for the last month and a half and really can see the difference! For those who say they can’t see A difference I feel that you probably haven’t really given it a chance or should be using the purple toned one instead of the blue

Great, but not moisturizing
I highly recommend this shampoo/conditioner to anyone trying to reduce the brassiness of their light brown to pale orange-colored hair. I do not recommend it for anyone that has any amount of yellow or white in their hair. Here has been my experience with this product:I attempted to drastically lighten my dark brown hair. Throughout multiple bleach sessions, I ended up with various shades of orange hair. I used this shampoo to help me from looking too crazy for work. With dark orange hair (level 5 or 6), I let this shampoo sit in my hair for about 2 min before rinsing it out. I barely saw a difference. I tried it again the next day, leaving it on for 7 min. My hair looked darker and more brown under indoor lighting. However, the harshness of the orange was not much different under broad daylight. (Note: I used a blue based toner prior to using the shampoo. The shampoo made more of a difference.)With pale orange hair and locks of yellow (ranging from level 6 to 8), I left this shampoo on for about 5 minutes. It definitely reduced the harshness of the orange. However, it caused my hair to look darker overall, and it caused the yellow locks to take on a greenish tone. This was very noticeable under fluorescent lighting and broad daylight. (Note: I used a blue based and an ash based toner prior to using the product. They helped quite a bit, but this shampoo still made more of a difference.)After conducting a bleach bath, I finally accepted that I could not safely get my hair past a level 7 (very pale pumpkin) orange color. I applied a level 7 ash blonde color, and ash and blue based toners to my hair. There were no more yellow areas, but there was still a very strong brassy tone coming through. I applied this shampoo for about 7 min before rinsing. I applied it for 5 min the next two times I washed my hair. After the third wash, I was very satisfied with the way the shampoo had transformed my hair color. The orange became more of a very light ash brown (ranging from level 6 to 7).Key takeaways: Only use this product on brown or orange hair. Do not use on blonde, yellow, or white hair. Figure out how long you must leave it on to achieve results. Expect your hair to appear a bit darker. Don't expect drastic results. You can build color by using the shampoo several times in a row.Other feedback: The shampoo is basically a temporary dye. It can stain clothing or objects. It washes away after 1-3 washings, even when using gentle salon-quality shampoo. The conditioner has very little dye in it - not enough to make a huge difference by itself. The shampoo is kind of drying, but I was able to use it on my bleach damaged hair without making things worse. The conditioner is not very moisturizing. It's fine for normal hair, but not enough for bleach damaged hair. Once you've achieved a build of color, you'll maybe need to use this shampoo once or twice a week (if washing hair daily). Therefore, I'd say it's worth the price.
