TAMASHII NATIONS - Tetsujin 28-go - GX-29R Black Ox, Bandai Spirits Soul of Chogokin Die-Cast Metal Collectible

There are few Japanese robots more iconic than Black Ox. As far as I know, the GX-29R is simply a rerelease of GX-29, first released in November 2005. This was probably my most desired renewal figure and it didn’t disappoint. Black Ox is from the anime Tetsujin-28 Go but where I first saw him was in the opening for Giant Robo. Black Ox is magnificent in the simplicity of his design. The figure is entirely jet black except for the yellow eyes, metal gray midsection and red stripe on the head. There was an attempt to update Black Ox’s look in 1980 but in 2004, animators went back to the original look because it never needed updating.The figure is almost entirely covered in metal and although I’m not exactly sure what is die-cast and what is plastic, I can say that this figure has the physical weight of a figure with a lot of metal. The joints are plastic and very smooth. The one exception is the hip joint, which is metal and considerably stiffer. There is evidence of an older design with ratchet joints in the shoulders and knees, as well 10 screw holes in the back of the figure. Current figures hide the screw holes, but I kinda like the screw holes because they give the figure a bit of a retro look.The articulation is very basic, but sufficient. I do wish his ankles had a bit more range. Black Ox stands easily without a brace but much like his counterpart, Tetsujin-28, he is rather top heavy, which is simply a product of his design and not Bandai’s fault. Bandai could have added some weight to his legs and/or lightened his torso but again, he stands easily so it’s not a big deal. He has little spikes on his feet but they retract at the slightest pressure so there is little worry of scratching something.I don’t usually get excited about gimmicks, but my 7-year old daughter really enjoyed Black Ox’s gimmick. There is a switch on the back to light up his eyes but what’s far cooler is that he can interact with Tetsujin-28. If you turn on Tetsujin and move Black Ox’s right fist near his mid-section as if he were delivering a punch, there will be a sound of a collision and Tetsujin’s eyes will turn red. Tetsujin will also play his theme song but I’m not sure if that’s caused by his interaction with Black Ox.This is a rock solid figure and looks fantastic with Tetsujin-28. I paid $128 + $5 shipping from a toy specialty site and it’s currently $123.83 on Amazon, as I write this review. That’s a very fair price but I’d balk if it started hitting the $140 to $150 mark. The rereleases surely hurts the value as a collectable, but I’ve always preferred seeing figures available to as large of an audience as possible.

Il modello è semplicemente stupendo, dalle linee essenziali, ma sulerlativo.Non conosco la serie, che ho imparato ad apprezzare in un secondo momento, in effetti nel nostro paese non è diffusa e da quel che so non pubblicizzata.Comunque sia lui che il Tetsujin 28, a mio avviso sono immancabili nelle collezioni degli amanti dei robot e chogokin.

重量感があり、フォルム、可動域など十分以上の満足感です。幼い日の憧れを再現すべく、鉄人と並べて更に楽しみたくなりました。

...... fa parte (è il "cattivo") del primo Manga - Anime, narrante le avventure di un Robot Gigante comandato dall'uomo è il precursore di tutto ciò che poi a seguito: Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger, Grendizer (Goldrake da noi) e poi tutto il resto, in pratica prima dell'era Go Nagai. Nella sua semplicità rispecchia perfettamente l'epoca in cui nacque, è bellissimo, praticamente interamente in metallo, un Chogokin assolutamente da avere, insieme ovviamente al GX-24R TETSUJIN 28 (da noi Super Robot 28). Al solito Amazon perfetta in tutto!

5月に注文していたのですが、やっと商品が到着しましたs。　今更ながらですが、ブラックオックスは、鉄人28号に登場するロボット群の中でも、　鉄人に次ぐ人気ではないでしょうか！　全身黒で、シャープなデザイン、強さは鉄人と互角、さらに手からは熱戦を出し、　目からの光は電波をかく乱させます。　さてモデルのほうですが、ブラックオックスが見事に再現されています。　全長17㎝くらいで、さすが超合金だけあってずしりと重いです。　手足、首、胴は、いかにもロボットのように動かすことができます。　またスイッチを入れると目が光ります。　付属品は、ダメージヘッド、差し替えの手2組、敷島博士、不乱拳博士のフィギュアなどです。　早速鉄人と戦わせてみよう！！
