Best toaster I’ve ever had. There’s basic and then there’s this luxury toaster.

My old (ancient!) Black and Decker 4-slice toaster has been a workhorse. And though a capable appliance, due to its size and appearance it's been relegated to a utility room cupboard for many years. For those same many years, nearly every day I've been steadfastly dragging it out and putting it away. I like my kitchen uncluttered. Fortunately, I have a LOT of kitchen, pantry, and utility room storage. To warrant a kitchen counter location, something needs to be used frequently, AND it needs to look good. This KitchenAid Pro Line toaster immediately made the cut and earned that coveted location! Sadly, I'm now going to be missing out on all those daily steps! The utility test run this morning was with my usual 2 thick slabs of fresh sourdough, which I make with super-high hydration at 78-80%. Because of the moisture content, my old B&D would require 2 complete cycles on the highest setting to reach the same brownness you see pictured here, which was 1 cycle on the highest. The sourdough NEVER comes out evenly toasted. so I’ll say the browning capability is on par, but much faster. As for features: I like that the brownness setting light bar also serves as a countdown “timer”, a feature I must have missed in reading the specs. The hands-free drop will take a little getting used to, but only because I’m a bit efficiency-obsessed and today it jacked up my timing. I haven’t used the “keep warm” yet, but I like the idea of it. And I obviously can’t speak to the durability, but if the weight of it and "fit-and-finish" are any indication, this beast appears it will be passed on to my kids and grandkids. My only negative… Made in China.

Knew it was expensive, but it looks great alongside the mixer. This toaster is not your grandma's toaster. It is the space ship that it looks to be. Auto drop as soon as the bread/bagel hits the cage. Perfect toasting every time. They hit a home run with this one.

We bought this toaster in Feb 2019 for $239.00 mainly because the reviews were excellent and we were sick of buying a new toaster every few years. Unfortunately this toaster did not meet that expectation, the toaster no longer automatically lowers the bagels/bread or whatever you are toasting which renders this item useless. I am extremely disappointed that the toaster only worked for two years. Don’t be fooled by the good reviews this toaster is not built to last. We paid a premium price for a pretty toaster that fails to toast...not worth the money!

This toaster does what the instructions say. The quality fits my expectations. It is pricey but worth the money it matches my mixer. I use it almost everyday. I toast bread or bagels and I love it!

I have had this toaster on my wish list forever. I loved reading all the reviews and laughed about them. I also agreed with the ones who said no one NEEDS a $300 toaster but you'll WANT it. After two years, my husband was going to buy it for me for Valentines Day, but I had been saving Amazon gift cards for a while and we used them so the out-of-pocket wasn't nearly so hard to take. :) I absolutely love this toaster. It's heavy and well built and has a nice long warranty. It has a crumb tray but rarely has any crumbs because the toast isn't bounced around as it "pops" up in other toasters. No, this one gently lowers and raises the toast so it doesn't jar any crumbs off of it. The settings are there for frozen and a bit longer besides the usual darkness setting. When the toast is ready, a pleasant "ding!" notifies you it's coming up, and if you aren't in the area to hear it for example while you're setting the table, or went to get something out of the pantry), it will re-lower the toast to keep it butter-melting warm! It even LOOKS good on the counter -- really cute like an a miniature Airstream camp trailer and with futuristic bell and lights. It matches my KitchenAid Pro Line Mixer. Now that I have it, I would not regret paying a penny for it, even at its retail price!

Good features although expensive (discounted here on Amazon) well made. One complaint is at full heat/time setting marginal dark toast that I like. Matches other kitchen countertop appliances.

This toaster is a quality appliance! My husband is specific about how he likes his toast & bagels done. I surprised him with this toaster for his birthday (he receive more fun gifts as well 😉) he did not understand why I purchased this toaster until he used it. It is on the “heavy side” it stays out on the counter, has many toasting & bagel settings as well as the most pleasant chime when it’s ready. Has a couple other features as “a keep warm setting” your toast will automatically go back down to warm up if your breakfast is not ready all at the same time. You also have the option to toast “a little more” if not quite toasted to your liking. Overall the slots are roomy & we are very pleased with our new toaster!
