OPT 22516 Optimum Big Red Sponge, Foam, 1 Pack

Around 30 years ago, I used to detail high end cars for showrooms but in the intervening years I have changed careers several times and there have been changes in automotive paint types necessitating a different approach to cleaning and detailing vehicles. Changing cars recently after a 9 year ownership using a bucket, hosepipe and chamois leather made me question whether there was a better way. Checking out You Tube channels suggested there was! Optimum no-rinse solution in a large bucket with grit guard plus a big red sponge together with a quantity of drying towels is now my preferred approach and gives very satisfying finish. The sponge may seem expensive at first but a professional detailer I know says that he only changes sponges once a year (based on constant daily use).

Love this sponge, never thought id love a sponge but there you goI wash my car with ONR, Tired the Multiple microfiber method but got fed up with the washing. So tried the optimum recommended sponge and never looked back love it.

Bought as a gift

Works well but extremely expensive for what it is.

Lot of money for a little sponge. Have tried once with ONR. Will stick to microfibre cloths. This will still trap grit.

Not sure is it just this sponge or just me, but after maybe one or two usages I noticed that parts of sponge breaks off. Strange...
