This compost bin is the perfect choice if you are collecting compost for a backyard compost pile. I bought this to collect kitchen scraps to add to my cold compost bin. The container, lid, and handle are all solid metal, so I don’t expect any breakage for the foreseeable future.It is super easy to rinse out after taking out the compost. I don’t use any bags, and I’ve just had to quickly rinse this before using it again. There are no crevices or areas that would be hard to clean if something got crusted on.So far, it has contained the smell of the scraps just fine - though we empty it into the backyard at least once a week. As an added bonus, it looks sleek and doesn’t have the word “compost” on it like so many other products out there. We aren’t going to forget what it’s for, and it’s sleek and fits right in to our kitchen decor.

Well made, fits perfectly under the sink for kitchen compost. I had another one with a different lid design and the filter wouldn't stay in the lid and kept falling into the bin. This one has a much better lid design that keeps the filter in place still allowing easy removal for cleaning.

This bin is great to have on the countertop to fill up with compostable food scraps. I have tried a few different compost bins in the past, but this is the best one.1) it is stainless steel so cleanup is a breeze2) the filter does an incredible job of keeping smells in; I never smell any odor from it (I have never had fruit flies)3) emptying the bin is simple as can be. Take off the top and dump into your compost pile/bin outside. I love that I don't have to deal with any bags.Best practice is to empty this every day, but I leave it on the counter until it is full (takes 3-4 days with two people in our household). Even when it is full to the top, there is no smell.The design is also sleek; easy to fit it into many decor styles.
