They were the correct width and length however the weave was not good enough to function properly.

The wicks were delivered as advertised and in good condition. The issue I have may be caused by my ignorance. I inserted the 1/16th" wick into a 1/8th" wick holder than inserted the combination into the top of a Turkish style oil lamp, filled the lamp with oil, made sure the oil reached the exposed portion of the wick (1/4") and lit the wick. Initially the flame was PERFECT. Then within one minute, the wick apparently dried out, which caused the wick to burn instead of the oil. Once the wick burned to the lamp opening, the flame died out and the remaining wick just smoldered until it fully extinguished itself. I don't understand why the wick did not continue wicking the oil. It fit well in the tip and the tip fit well in the lamp. We purchased this lamp approximately 30 years ago in a small shop in a small town in the state of Mississippi. In all that time I have never been successful in receiving an adiquat, long burning flame from this lamp. Any professional advice would be greatly appreciated.
