Argyll Shipwrecks

Argyll shipwrecks
Very interesting and informative. As a somewhat novice, recreational sailor it was good to read about the west coast coastline and its many hidden, if not fascinating, dangers. Also gratifying to know that not all wrecks encompassed the loss of all crew members. At least some made it to shore and ultimate safety. The authors have take a great deal of time and trouble to research their subject and have, in my view, successfully produced an informative, interesting and valuable insight into navigation around the west coast of Scotland, which if nothing else, informs the reader that danger does exist, care and planning should be paramount and a degree of professional training should be undertaken before navigating these exciting, beautiful, exhilarating but none the less dangerous waters.

Informative
This was bought to give some info on the wrecks on the charts as we sail around the Argyll coast a lot and wanted to know the stories behind the symbols, which it gives. It also gives you a feel for how many ships were built on the Clyde!
